1995 Toyota Tacoma Xtra Cab 4 Wheel Drive on 2040-cars

Year:1995 Mileage:166000

Hopkinsville, Kentucky, United States

I have owned this truck for almost 10 years and its been a toy of mine. I have put the following items on it. New engine (only about 5,000 miles on it) new clutch, pressure plate, new complete ac system, new paint job, new brakes, new tires, new shocks, new exhaust, new stereo system, and speakers($700) and many many more parts. This truck has been babied as I bought it from the original owner and slowly made it into an almost perfect truck. I had no intention of selling it but i only used it on the farm some and to pull my mower which i don't need anymore and it just sits and needs a new owner. I have way too much money in this truck. I have probably spent close to 11,000 altogether so someone is going to get a bargain. Like I said, I have owned for about 10 years and most of the new items are less than 2-3 years old. The new engine only has about 5,000 miles on it with no problems at all. Very nice truck. You wont be disappointed. I stand behind this truck. It is my baby. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. I was planning on keeping this for my one year old son, but that will be 2029 before he can drive and he will probably have a hovercraft by then. This truck is a head turner and a classic Toyota truck. Oh by the way I am a Toyota owner, I currently have a tundra, a new Camry and this truck and i just don't need two trucks anymore. I believe I am the second owner of the truck in almost 20 years! Feel free to ask any questions. Reserve is set low as they always say, but this time is real, my loss is your gain.

one change to the description. Its actually a 3.0L engine. Ebay did not give me a drop down option for this. I am not aware of a 3.4L engine ever coming in this truck. I wanted to clear that up.

Toyota offered $146.5 million to build Lexus ES in Kentucky

Thu, 18 Apr 2013

Toyota posted a media advisory yesterday saying that Akio Toyoda, president of Toyota, and Jim Lentz, CEO of Toyota North America, would be making a production announcement tomorrow in New York City, and Automotive News reports that the automaker will be announcing a plan to domestically produce the Lexus ES. According to the report, numerous plants are competing to build the ES in North America, and the State of Kentucky has offered the automaker up to $146.5 million to build the luxury sedan at the Georgetown, KY assembly plant.
If Georgetown gets the ES, which has been built in Japan since its debut in 1989, it would be built alongside the Toyota Camry, which is somewhat ironic since in our review of the 2013 Lexus ES350, we wrote that this ES finally says "goodbye to its Camry roots." In order to get the whole amount offered, the article states that Toyota would have to invest $531.2 million and hire 570 full-time workers at the plant, which doesn't sound all that unreasonable since the plant would require an additional 50,000 units of annual production, not to mention the fact that the Georgetown facility is already at its capacity for building the Camry.

Toyota hits 10 million Camry models sold in US

Tue, 02 Jul 2013

This year marks 30 years of sales for the Toyota Camry in the US, and in that time, it has amassed more than 10 million sales. In its first year on the market, the Camry sold 52,651 units, but it has gone on to become the best-selling car in the US for the last 11 years.
Toyota says that "virtually all" current Camry models sold in the US are made here, and three-quarters of all Camry contents are domestically sourced. Scroll down for the official press release from Toyota, and be sure to check out our gallery of images showing every model year and bodystyle of the Camry since it first went on sale in 1983.

Toyota found not at fault in alleged unintended acceleration crash

Fri, 11 Oct 2013

Toyota has already paid out millions and billions of dollars in settlements surrounding unintended acceleration, but the first lawsuit in the matter, which headed to a California court in July, has reached a verdict. Following the 2009 death of Noriko Uno, whose 2006 Camry was hit by another car and then sped out of control before crashing into a tree, the jury found that Toyota was not at fault in the crash.
Even though the 2006 Camry (shown above) wasn't involved in any of the unintended acceleration-related recalls and it was not equipped with a brake override, Automotive News reports that the jury's verdict says there was no defect in the car and actually blames the entire incident on the driver that ran into Uno's car - to the tune of $10 million. The accident started when the other driver ran a stop sign and hit Uno's car, and the report says that medical conditions (including diabetes) caused Uno to fail to stop her Camry.
The AN article also states that this lawsuit was a bellwether case for around 85 other personal-injury and wrongful-death suits against Toyota, but there are still many impending suits across the country. Scroll down for an official statement on this particular case from Toyota.
