280000 miles ...Just broke in...Good for 500000 plus. 267000 replaced timing belt and all other belts for the 4th time. Told every 90000 good but avg time between
replacement 70000. Replaced the water pump/radiator at this time. Changed spark pugs three times and coils once. Last time on the spark pugs was 257000 when replacing the
valve cover gaskets.  270000 miles replace all U-joints on drive train. Transfer case U-joints were ok and greased. Replaced U-joints had Grease Points and were grease often.
The new ones do not.  A three day old jeep was pushed into the front by a in a hurry mustang while sitting at a stop sign.  Would have drove away but a small pin hole in the
radiator prevented it. Hood and grill lights have been replaced and custom bumper is ready for a winch and fog lights. Truck probably has 70000 more miles than average. Had
200 mile Sunday paper route. Average MPG 17 stop and go...20.5 Highway. Nearly new rubber  and the front struts and rear shocks were replaced 250000 miles. Rides good on
the highway/ hold steady on country road and pasture. Front calipers and disc replace, rears brakes and ABS brake actuator  replaced between 180000 and 200000.
Transmission was recently flushed with new fluid for the third time. Have been using good synthetic for the last 80000 plus .  Rear bumper is good but tail gate has a very
shallow push in dead center of the tag. Don't know where that came from.
Had this truck since 2001. It had 56,000 miles on it. Serviced it regularly and replaced what ever broke. It is good truck now and can be a good truck for the right person.
Retirement and one too many trucks causes me to sell it. I will need to see reference and an intention list from any new owner.(Just Kidding) It is for sale at a reasonable price.

Tried to price it a fair range to Kelly Blue Book, $5500. Put a Craigs List topper on in..Wash it and a good detail it will look like an $8000 dollar vehicle. I will accept a fair OBO.

Dubai claims debut of Toyota GT86 sedan concept

Sun, 03 Nov 2013

Typically, when the organizers of an auto show reveal that a new car will debut at their show, we take notice. But this particular claim from the Dubai International Motor Show ought to be taken with a grain of salt.
As our compatriots at AutoGuide discovered, the Facebook page for the Emirates auto expo includes a post with an interesting claim: that a sedan based on the Toyota GT86 (known in the US as the Scion FR-S) will debut at the show. The Facebook post is accompanied by the image above, purporting to show the concept in question.
The strange part is that the organizers claim the four-door GT86 concept will make its "regional unveil" at the Dubai show, which would seem to indicate that the concept in question would make its international debut at an earlier show. Considering that the doors open in Dubai on Tuesday, that seems increasingly unlikely. All of this begs the question, If this isn't actually a four-door GT86, what might it be?

Toyota reaffirms commitment to body-on-frame SUVs

Mon, 29 Jul 2013

Toyota sold 121,055 Highlander CUVs in 2012, according to Automotive News. By comparison, it sold 78,457 examples of four different body-on-frame, truck-based SUVs (4Runner, FJ Cruiser, Sequoia and Land Cruiser). One could argue then, that the traditional SUVs aren't pulling their weight from a sales perspective. Yet that isn't stopping Toyota from reaffirming its commitment to a segment that has seen its former champions - Ford, General Motors and Chrysler - abandon it with alarming speed. Ford and GM still offer body-on frame utilities, but only in the very largest offerings, catering to seven or even eight passengers. Everything outside of the Expedition or Tahoe rides now on a unibody.
Toyota's decision to stick with the technology is good news if you're in the market for smaller SUVs that are still capable of heading well off the beaten path. Outside of the Jeep Wrangler, Grand Cherokee (a unibody) and perhaps Nissan Xterra, there's not much in terms of capable SUVs between $20,000 and $50,000. As the Toyota brand's US head, Bill Fay, says, "Clearly, the trend has shifted, but there is still an owner base that is interested in these vehicles."
We don't doubt Fay on that, but it may also be somewhat telling that Toyota's SUV lineup is aging, and we haven't seen or heard much about replacement models in the pipeline. Admittedly, the 4Runner (pictured) has been facelifted for 2014, but it's mostly cosmetic in nature. Despite Toyota's posturing, we still expect its body-on-frame lineup to thin in the coming years as sales dwindle and escalating fuel-economy standards make business cases even tougher. Here's hoping that Toyota manages to keep at least one rough-and-tumble SUV in its lineup in the coming years.

2015 Toyota Camry targeting 'more emotional' design

Sun, 19 Jan 2014

There are many ways to describe the Toyota Camry: "comfortable," "economical," "affordable," "reliable" and "dull as a bucket of mayonnaise" would all be accurate. It's this last one that the Japanese brand is seeking to change. While we aren't expecting it to suddenly sprout a high-revving V8, a rear-drive layout or razor-sharp handling, a report from Bloomberg suggests we should at least expect a more evocative design from one of the best-selling cars in the country.
The next Camry update, due for 2015, should have a "more emotional, more impactful design," says Kevin Hunter, head of Toyota's US design studio. That's according to Bloomberg, who caught up with the styling boss at this week's Detroit Auto Show. "Camry's taken some hits on styling, but it's still selling well. But we need to create better design for Camry in the future."
