THIS THING IS AWESOME. THEY TOOK A REALLY NICE V-8 TUNDRA 4X4 PICKUP AND PUT A 12" LIFT AND 38" TIRES.  THE TIRES IN THE PICS ARE BEAT  BUT WHEN YOU COME SEE IT THERE WILL BE BRAND NEW RUBBER ON IT.  THE AIR BLOWS COLD AND THE TRUCK ONLY HAS 70000 ORIGINAL MILES ON IT.  THE LIFT WAS DONE RIGHT AND IT DRIVES AMAZINGLY WELL. WE REALIZE THERE'S A LIMITED AUDIENCE FOR THIS THING SO WE ARE ANXIOUS TO HEAR FROM ANYONE WHO IS INTERESTED.  IT DRAWS TONS OF ATTENTION WHEREVER IT GOES.  I'M SURE WHEN YOU ADD THE COST OF THE ALTERATIONS TO WHATEVER A NICE TUNDRA PICKUP IS WORTH YOU GET A NUMBER IN THE MID $20000 RANGE.  THIS THINGS A BARGAIN FOR WHAT WE ARE ASKING.  CALL US AND LET'S MAKE A DEAL.  OUR FEEDBACK IS 100% SO YOU KNOW YOU CAN COUNT ON WHAT WE TELL YOU ABOUT IT.  CALL SCOTT AT 215-280-2120.

Toyota's Lentz says fuel cells are the future, not EVs

Sun, 25 May 2014

Toyota is not bullish on EVs. That comes from the company's North American CEO, Jim Lentz, who said the company will focus not on electrification, but on continued hybridization with a long-term focus on hydrogen fuel cells.
Lentz questioned the long-range ability of EVs, saying that Toyota feels "there are better alternatives, such as hybrids and plug-in hybrids, and tomorrow with fuel cells." Lentz spoke about Toyota's focus on hydrogen following Forbes Brainstorm Green conference and barely a week after a battery deal between Tesla and Toyota ended, according to Automotive News.
That deal provided for 2,500 battery packs for the Rav4 EV. While valuable to Toyota, the deal "was never about open-ended volume," Lentz said. "It was time to either continue or stop. My personal feeling was that I would rather invest my dollars in fuel cell development than in another 2,500 EVs."

Toyota Pro/Celebrity race switching from Scion tC to FR-S [w/video]

Thu, 07 Feb 2013

Toyota has announced that the rear-wheel-drive Scion FR-S will replace the front-wheel-drive Scion tC as the racecar used by actors, singers and celebrities of all grades in its annual Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race. It's the first time a rear-drive vehicle has been used for the event in 27 years, with the tC having been in use since 2005, and the FWD Celica before that. This year's race takes place on April 20th amidst the festivities of the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach weekend.
The racing FR-S, which debuted today at the Chicago Auto Show, won't be left stock either, but rather outfitted with a range of official Toyota Racing Development parts and equipment, such as a stainless steel exhaust, new coil overs and springs, upgraded brakes, a bigger air intake and 18-inch wheels, not to mention all of the safety equipment required to keep the celebrities and pro drivers safe. The company says the performance mods have lifted horsepower to 210 from the standard car's 200. Check out the build process for the cars in the video below to see just how much work's been done.
The Toyota Pro/Celebrity race is also about more than just letting celebrities and pros do battle on a road course. The spectacle helps raise money for "Racing for Kids," a non-profit charity that supports children's hospitals in the US.

Toyota will steer clear of driverless cars

Thu, 04 Sep 2014

Toyota executives say the company's primary focus is on safety. At least for the time being, that means the company won't pursue development of a driverless car.
Speaking at the company's advanced safety seminar in Ypsilanti, MI, Thursday morning, Seigo Kuzumaki, Toyota's deputy chief safety technology officer, said that Toyota envisions a future driving environment that optimizes the best of both humans and computers, not choosing one over the other.
"Toyota's main objective is safety, so it will not be developing a driverless car." - Seigo Kuzumaki
