Year:1974 Mileage:76119
Location:

Stanfield, North Carolina, United States

Up for auction is a very, very nice 1974 Triumph TR-6 ( non-overdrive ) with only 76,199 miles on the odometer. I purchased the car from its second owner who purchased the car in 1978 while in school and have a large file on the car dating back some 30 years. I will make every effort to detail everything about the car, so all interested will be fully informed prior to bidding. I'm not a mechanic or a dealer just a guy selling a very nice TR-6. Please take time to read the auction in it's entirety.

Heritage: This is a true numbers matching car as I know it to be after doing much research and that the previous owner had the car since 1978 and stated it was all original. The production date is Nov. 1973, commission number is CF 15229 U, engine number is CF 15422 UE,  body tag  #1 is T 14544 CF and body tag #2 is 15738 CF. The car is still in its original color of Maple Brown ( paint code #73 ) and original trim color New Tan ( trim code #33 ).

Mechanicals: The car runs and drives great. The car was just serviced this last week so she is good to hit the open road. The service included new points, spark plugs, ignition wires, distributor cap, oil change, oil filter, air filters and the radiator was serviced. The car starts right up with no issues or smoke. The engine is "drum tight " with no signs of any fluid drips anywhere under the car at this time. The car shifts up / down through all the gears with no issues or noises. The rear end is strong and makes no noises.

Electrical's:  Many hours and dollars where spent on going through this area: headlights ( high & low beam ) work , wipers work, horn works, front & rear turn signals work, front & rear running lights work, brake lights work, backup lights work, license plate lights work, dash gauge lights work,  hazard switch works, blower fan works and the radio works.

Gauges: All gauges are correct and original  "Smith" brand and are in working order at this time.

Interior:   Is very nice condition and I'll let the photos speak for its condition.

Exterior: The car looks great and sits perfectly on the ground with no leaning, sagging or any signs of the dreaded TR-6 "Squatting " issues. Look at how perfectly the body, hood, trunk and doors fit! As seen all body panels, hood, trunk, doors and wheel arches are laser straight.  The tires are correct Michelin Red Line " X " tires just like from the factory. All glass is original  Triplex brand and I just installed new windshield wiper arms and wiper blades. The only thing of note is that there is a scratch on the passengers front fender and 2 small paint chips on the car ( not sure if this shows up in the photos ).

Soft Top: The soft top has the factory correct reflective strip with zip down rear window and is in like new condition. It was professionally installed and fitted. At the time of install a complete new top frame was also installed along with all new seals and gaskets ( cost of all this was over $1300 ). The top has never been folded down since installed so please don't ask me for photos of the car with the top down as I'm unwilling to risk and damage to the top just for a photo.

Underbody: This area looks unbelievably original and in very, very good condition and I find no evidence of rust,  rust repairs or accident / damage repairs. Deatailed underbody, floor pan, rocker panels and dog leg photos are available upon request.

Trunk: The truck is rock solid, newer trunk panel kit and carpet ( see photos ). The car does comes with a spare wheel.

Overseas Bidders: Yes the auction is open to overseas bidders. The auction is open to overseas bidders and if you need to ship overseas try  Schumacher Cargo Logistics shipping for fast free quotes (  http://www.schumachercargo.com/  ).  Please have funds available at auctions end.

In Closing: The above description is my observations and opinions and they very from person to person so ask all questions prior to bidding. Again. not an expert just what I know and see so please ask any and all questions you might have.

I'm not an expert and my opinion of the car may vary from yours so please look at the photos closely and if you need more information or the extra photos I have available please ask prior to bidding. I know how hard it is to purchase a car online so please ask any and all questions you have prior to bidding or if you can come see and drive the car for yourself ( I really encourage you to do so ) as I want the winning bidder to be satisfied with the car when it arrives. No warranties / guarantees  are expressed or implied. A $500 non-refundable deposit is due within 48 hours of auctions end time.

Jaguar F Type V6 S vs Triumph Street Triple R in open-air track attack

Sun, 21 Sep 2014

Typically, these track battle videos pair up car against car or, in more disparate circumstances, car versus crossover, as we saw the other day. While the outcome of that battle was quite predictable, what'll happen when an equally fetching (and fast) four-wheeler is put up against one of the icons of the two-wheeled world? Evo just had to find out.
Matching up a Jaguar F-Type V6 S Convertible against a Triumph Street Triple R is at least more of an even fight than the last battle between the Porsche Cayman GTS and Macan Turbo. The Triumph has a 675-cc engine to work with, and is very light. Meanwhile, the Jag has a thumping 380-horsepower, 3.0-liter, supercharged V6 to haul about it's considerably heftier heft. Who will come out on top?
You'll need to watch the full video to find out.
