Here is a great 1953 oval that was just purchased from the 2nd owner that bought the car in 56. I recently bought this car with the intentions of restoring it and if it doesn't sell that's what I will do. This car has all of its original sheet metal and appears to have never been hit. It has all of its original fenders ,aprons,correct 4 tab 3 bolt hood ,engine lid, doors , seats , correct speedo, correct original heart tail lights, dome light , steering wheel and horn button, ash tray , correct ribbed semaphores, large mouth gas tank , split case trans , and a running early 36hp engine. The car has all the correct large logo Sekurit glass as well as very nice original floor pans with the correct snap style floor mats. This car has everything going for it. Its a super complete early car with a lot of unique 53 only features and is a perfect restoration candidate or strip the resprays back to uncover the original paint and drive it as it is. Volkswagen to add 50k jobs by 2018
Thu, 04 Apr 2013Volkswagen still has its eyes set on becoming the top global automaker by 2018, and to get there, it's apparently going to need more boots on the ground. Automotive News Europe is reporting that VW is looking to increase its staff by 50,000 over the next five years - an increase of nine percent - which does not include an increase in its US dealer network.
According to the report, a majority of the growth will come from China where the automaker is also looking to double its production capacity in the same time frame. The Volkswagen Group is already expected to rival General Motors for the top sales spot in China this year, and such a rapid expansion in the region could make a good springboard for sales increases in other countries.
Volkswagen NMC production guise caught in China
Tue, 29 Apr 2014Chinese car site Autohome has what are said to be the first pictures of the Volkswagen New Midsize Coupe concept in production form. VW's NMC was just introduced at the Beijing Motor Show, while background chatter indicated it would go on sale in China, Autohome says that production version will be built at the Shanghai-Volkswagen plant in Ningbo, and the retail guise could be introduced at the Guangzhou Motor Show in November and go on sale that same month.
Assuming this is the production car, its main lines have made the jump from the concept but with less fine detailing, a silver hue and with conventional VW wheels it's lost a little bit of oomph. Still, a few checkmarks on the option sheet can fix most of that, the shape remains handsome and the 2.0-liter turbo underhood keeps performance peppy and mileage frugal enough. Volkswagen breaks 40-year-old sales record in 2012
Sun, 13 Jan 2013The last time Volkswagen moved this many vehicles in America in one year, Richard Nixon was still a President in good standing, Let It Be was a radio hit and each car wearing the VW badge boasted an air-cooled engine. That's right, with a grand total of 580,286 vehicles sold in the US last year, the VW Group has broken its own four-decades-old sales record by 2,899 vehicles.
Of that 580k total sold, 438k were Volkswagens and 139k were Audi products - increases of 35.1 percent and 18.5 percent, respectively, in year-over-year sales. The ultra-premium members of the VW group also fared well; Bentley delivered 2,315 vehicles for a 23.3-precent increase, and Lamborghini delivered 520 units for a 52.9-percent jump. Bugatti, we're told is "right on track."
Jetta (pictured) sales paced the marque with 170k models sold, and Passat also finished very strong with sales of 117k total. Tiguan also racked up its best year on file, with 31,731 models shifted.
