DO NOT BID WITHOUT CALLING ME FIRST. Runs and drives good, ive put about 100 miles on it in the past few days. Not perfect show quality but really nice, restored years ago and shows a little age but its in great condition. Im not sure if the interior is original or replaced but its in near perfect condition. Original floorpans with no rust but the passenger rear has been replaced due to battery rot (an original pan was cut from another bug and put in) New chrome original style wheels and caps, new tires and new spare tire, new bumpers and brackets, new headlight rings, new top and top cover, original white repaint (fully disassembled and done right), new front windshield seal, new convertible top seals, new window seals (except vent window seals), new body seals (except brake light seals) , all new brake lines, new battery and a few other things. It still has all the cardboard insulation and tool kit under the front hood. The engine was just replaced with a recently rebuilt 1,600 dual port that has a 87mm big bore piston and jug kit, performance camshaft, 009 electronic ignition distributor, new quiet high performance exhaust system and a new stage 1 clutch, pressure plate & throw out bearing. It also comes with the original engine that has a locked piston. It runs and drives but needs the carburetor and timing adjusted by a professional, I done the best I could without a timing light and it starts quick, runs good and idles good, it may all be fine but I suggest having it checked. Sometimes it dies at stop signs but starts back up soon as you hit the switch. It also has a slight oil leak on the driver side, valve cover or push rod tube. I buy and sale 3 or 4 classic cars a year and use some of them for my daily driver so I know every problem and fix what needs attention, I like to leave a little work for the buyer so I can ask a reasonable price. Ive been doing this for over 20 years, sold and shipped cars all over the world through Ebay. I also have it listed local with a lot of interest so this auction can end at any time. Call, text or email, I get poor signal at home so if I don't answer please leave a message615-753-2O9O DO NOT BID WITHOUT CALLING ME FIRST.

Volkswagen Golf Wagon caught completely uncovered

Thu, 28 Feb 2013

Without a lot of information to go with them, our camera-toting spies have captured some new images of a Volkswagen Golf wagon variant that is almost completely undisguised. In fact, the one piece of camouflage on the tidy wagon would probably have gone unnoticed to most casual viewers. Look closely at the rear three-quarter view of the car and you'll notice that the apparent taillight clusters are actually fakes - the outline of the real units is faintly visible behind the blue bodywork and the sticker-like fake taillights.
It's a good guess then, that this Golf wagon (called a Golf Kombi by our spy photographer) is a prototype that's pretty far along in the development cycle for Volkswagen. We can't be sure what impact this will have on the company's small wagon offering here in the US, but we'd be pretty surprised if something very like this didn't end up as the next Jetta SportWagen. We might well have more information on that front, after we visit Geneva next week.

Get ready to Camino-ize your fourth-generation VW Jetta with this kit

Tue, 05 Aug 2014

Inexpensive, small pickup trucks used to be everywhere in the US, whether they were from Japanese brands like Datsun or Toyota, the truly weird Subaru Brat or even from Europe with the Volkswagen Caddy based on the Golf. These days that market has completely disappeared, but if you're willing to pick up some tools to build your own, there's a company out there bringing the Caddy back as a kit for the Jetta.
Mark Smith knows a thing about building a vehicle at home. He has over two decades in the DIY-car business as a co-founder of Local Motors and the company that became Factory Five Racing. His latest venture is Smyth Performance and already offers a mid-engine, VW-based kit called the G3F. His new product, though, started as a fluke. "I just wanted a shop truck," said Smith to Autoblog. He already had a Ford F-450 but found that he was driving around with the bed empty most of the time. The result was a pickup truck based on the fourth-generation Jetta that he dubbed the Ute.
The kit retails for $3,500 and ships in three, big boxes, and it's designed to be built and painted in a weekend. Buyers get fiberglass exterior panels, a fiberglass rear window surround, sliding rear window, an aluminum reinforced bed with a tubular steel subframe, taillights, a fully functional steel tailgate, and other parts. In the end, you get a vehicle with a six-foot bed and a payload of around 700-750 pounds. The Ute maintains all of the factory suspension, fuel tank and emissions equipment and requires just a few cuts in the body to complete. "We did a modern Caddy," admits Smith.

Volkswagen throws a Polo-palooza with four new or upgraded models

Wed, 05 Mar 2014

Volkswagen unveiled a parade of new and upgraded Polo models at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, including the Polo TSI BlueMotion, Polo TDI BlueMotion, Polo BlueGT and CrossPolo (pictured above). While they will likely never make an appearance this side of the pond, it is fun to see what European subcompact drivers will be driving later this year.
The new BlueMotion models represent the most efficient petrol and diesel options in their class, according to VW. The BlueMotion TDI offers just 73 horsepower from its diesel engine but gives the equivalent of 76 miles per gallon (US) in the EU test. The BlueMotion TSI brings a little more power with its 88-hp petrol engine and has a combined rating of 57 mpg (US) in the EU cycle.
The Polo BlueGT provides a balance of performance and economy, and for the 2014 model, it gains a 9-horsepower boost to its 1.4-liter turbocharged to give drivers 147 hp at the press of the accelerator. This year's car also has an optional Sport Select suspension with electronically controlled dampers to improve handling a bit. It's still fitted with active cylinder management to use as little gas as possible when cruising.
