Convertible 1968 Beetle, Good Condition on 2040-cars

This is a 1968 Volkswagon Beetle Convertible. The vehicle is in good shape, frame is in excellent condition. New Disc breaks all around, Convertible top is in great condition. Engine has less then 3000 Miles on it, Transmission is the same I bought then the same time from JBugs in Florida. Everything in this vehicle works to standard except the hood release, I ordered a new latch for inside the glove compartment so hopefully by the end of the auction I will have it in the mail and installed. The engine is an after market 1835 CC California Style Dual Carbs with a Bug pack Muffler system. The Breaks in the vehicle are new (purchased same time as the Engine and Trans) they are Disc breaks which work pretty good but not the ABS style standard.Thanks for taking a look at the vehicle and remember this is a 1968 so its not by all means flawless but it has a lot of years a head of it and the vehicle is in great shape body wise!

VW Super Bowl teaser with Jimmy Cliff is like a less-mean Tosh.0 Web Redemption
Thu, 24 Jan 2013Reggae super-duper-star and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Jimmy Cliff has been using music to send positive vibes out into the universe for decades now, so its no surprise that his message on behalf of Volkswagen is one of redemption.
Dubbed Sunny Side, this web-spot is VW's warmup of sorts for what promises to be another blockbuster year in the world of Super Bowl commercials. Without giving away the game, the euphonious commercial sees Cliff opening his arms and his heart to some YouTube 'celebrities' that might see courser treatment from the likes of Tosh.0, for instance. We can't help but be reminded of Coca-Cola's legendary 1971 Hilltop spot with the "I'd like to buy the world a Coke" lyric, too.

Toyota reclaims global sales crown, GM and VW not far behind
Mon, 28 Jan 2013TheDetroitBureau.com reports Toyota has retaken the global sales crown. The Japanese automaker turned out 9.75 million vehicles last year, putting it just ahead of General Motors, with 9.29 million vehicles. Volkswagen, meanwhile, filled out the podium by building 9.1 million units in 2012.
Still, Toyota numbers fell just below projections the automaker made earlier in the year, due largely to a fierce territorial dispute between Japan and China that has seen mainland buyers shun Japanese goods. But the news marks a substantial comeback for Toyota. The company fell to third place in the global production race in 2011 after tragic earthquake and tsunami caused several plant closures.
In Japan, Toyota enjoyed a sales increase of 35 percent over the previous year, while the company's worldwide sales jumped by 23 percent thanks in part to new additions to the Prius line. The automaker is forecasting yet another increase for 2013, with the company projecting to reach 9.91 million units this year. Neither Volkswagen nor GM have released their own projections just yet.
Volkswagen Group previews its wares on eve of Geneva show

So the best way to show off the range of the VW family is to cram a few thousand journalists and VIPs into a massive makeshift stand to outline the Group's goals, what's in the pipeline and what you'll be able to buy later this year.
To that end, VW pulled out all the stops on the eve of the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, bringing along 10 vehicles from across the range. We'll be delving into the details of each over the next two days of show coverage, but before that happens, you can read all about what we saw tonight from the cheap seats after the break.
