Positives: Had a Front Brake Cylinders replaced, Tune-Up (spark plaugs replaced, points set, valve gaskets) and Oil Change Friday 10/04/13. Had the clutch and clutch cable replaced 1 yr. ago and Steering Stabiler Bushings. Replaced the carb about 2 yrs. ago. New upholstery. New Dash. Has CD player. Tires looking great.All Electric is working great. Had break-lines replaced 3 yrs ago. Has all 4 seat belts. No Visible Rust on the Body. I kept paperwork of repairs, and tuneups. Registration, Stickers and Paperwork Current. If you keep the valves tuned-up this bug will get great MPG.

Negatives: Paint is fading, but anyone that wants to bring this bug to its original glory wont have to worry about much to repaint it. (no serious dents or rust, but you can see where previous owner did some sort of touch-ups if inspect closely). Front passenger vinyl seat cover has some wear and tear.

VW says it has sold over 100,000 TDI diesels in America this year

Volkswagen Group of America has lit oil-burning fireworks to celebrate the sales of more than 100,000 TDI Clean Diesel vehicles in the US between its VW and Audi brands this year. According to VW, that means it is responsible for more than 75 percent of diesel-engined cars and SUVs sold here - perhaps not surprising when the two brands offer a total of 12 diesel models.
What might be surprising is that the number of diesels isn't far off the estimated sales of 90,000 battery electric vehicles and PHEVs, with 15,000 of those accounted for by the Tesla Model S, another 12,000 or so being the Toyota Prius PHEV.
VW's keen to play up the ease of making diesel part of your life, stressing that it doesn't need any change to the refueling infrastructure and that "this is a technology delivering real answers to society's concerns about fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions without compromises."

VW debuts Get Happy Super Bowl ad

Brace yourself for another tidal wave of Super Bowl commercials. Volkswagen has released its spot for this year's big game. Set to air during the second quarter, the Get Happy spot follows one jubilant office worker as he makes his way through the day, spreading joy wherever he goes. The source of his happiness? A Volkswagen Beetle, of course. Now, if you're wondering why a gaggle of white guys are running around on your screen with Jamaican accents, it will help to know the spot is part of a larger Get Happy campaign featuring Jimmy Cliff.
The first ad in the series featured the artist singing his rendition of "C'Mon, Get Happy," complete with a little help from some notorious unhappy YouTube stars. You can take a look at the new ad before it airs below, along with the complete press release for a little more background.
