2004 Volkswagen Gls Convertible on 2040-cars

Year:2004 Mileage:50279
Location:

2004 Volkswagen Beetle GLS convertible. 2.0 turbo
I bought this car to fix up and let my kids drive but it needs more work than I want to deal with.
Looks like car as had some water damage and worked on by previous owner.
The body, paint, convertible top, interior and tires are all in great shape.
Comfort control module is bad and needs to be replace. This module controls most interior functions. That means that the power windows, locks, alarm, power brakes, gas cap filling door and  other functions do not work till it is replaced. Found module online for $280.00.Part # 1C0 959 799 G 06J
Also passenger side headlight is out.convertible top put down by hand also not working.
I am Not sure what other parts need to be fixed or replaced. Car is in heated garage so you can look at car before you bid on it. Car runs and drives I am not sure how far I would drive it though with that module being out. Hard stopping with no power brakes . I drove the car about 15 miles and parked in my driveway.should have car towed or shipped when picking up.car looks great, but will need some work.

also found that battery is not holding charge.not sure if battery is good.will start after battery is charged with charger.

also noted that Autocheck is showing title as rebulit but title I have is showing orginal (see picture)either way title is good.car was titled and had plates with this title.I also bellieve that milage on title and car is correct.
Low mileage.

VW updates Scirocco with revised styling, new engines

Sun, 16 Feb 2014

The Scirocco is undoubtedly one of the better-looking models in the Volkswagen lineup, but introduced back in 2008, it's now been on the market - some markets, anyway - for the better part of six years. VW is said to have an all-new replacement in the works, but before that arrives, the German automaker has announced a facelifted version with revised styling and a new engine lineup.
Set to be revealed at the Geneva Motor Show next month, the new Scirocco benefits from updated styling front and rear, high-tech exterior lighting, a revised cabin space with some throwback retro touches, some new technologies and, of course, an array of fresh wheel options ranging from 17 to 19 inches.
The updated Scirocco will be offered with a wide array of engines right from the get-go, including four gasoline options and two diesels, spanning from 125 horsepower all the way up to the 280-hp Scirocco R. The 2014 model hits European showrooms in August, but unfortunately isn't any more likely to make the transatlantic voyage Stateside than the version it replaces. Still interested? There's plenty to see in the high-res image gallery above and details in the press release below.

US-spec 2015 Volkswagen Golf and GTI to finally debut in New York

Tue, 12 Mar 2013

The seventh-generation Volkswagen Golf is hardly new to us. In fact, we've already driven it. And elsewhere in the world, the new Golf is already winning awards. Even so, we still have yet to see the US-spec version of the car, though that won't be the case much longer. As part of the New York Auto Show festivities later this month, Volkswagen will finally show off the 2015 Golf models destined for our shores.
Three different versions of the Golf will debut under the lights of New York City's Javits Center: the turbocharged TSI, oil-sipping TDI and hotter GTI. The first model in that list uses Volkswagen's new 1.8-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine, replacing the outgoing 2.5-liter naturally aspirated inline five-cylinder. The latter two models use familiar engines: the 2.0-liter TDI diesel and 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, respectively.
Even though the new Golf officially debuts later this month, it won't go on sale in the US until the first quarter of 2014. We'll be waiting patiently.

Lamborghini and Bentley may hold off on SUVs so VW can conserve cash

Thu, 11 Oct 2012

After surveying the European economic scene, Volkswagen may have decided now is not the time to launch utility vehicles with Bentley and Lamborghini badges. Bentley officials say they will continue to push for support for the EXP 9 F and Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelman has said planning for the Urus will continue until VW tells it to stop.
That decision could come on November 23, when VW's board will vote on the company's budget for equipment, factories and vehicles. With VW's sales slowing and the Euro economy slumping further, some industry watchers say the company is more likely to build its cash reserves than to introduce super-expensive luxury SUVs or crossovers.
"Such vehicles are anything but obligatory during a crisis," says Frankfurt-based Equinet AG analyst Tim Schuldt in a new Automotive News Europe story. "Delaying their launch would be no drama but help save costs."
