I live in the heart of Hollywood and pretty much walk/metro everywhere so I'm selling my 2006 Gecko Green New Beetle (Interior Black) with only 39,138 miles. I priced my car according to the Kelly Bluebook Value of "Good" car at 40,000 miles for a "Private Party Sale." I also know what the Trade In Value is so OBO must be far better than Trade In Value. AUTOCHECK SCORE IS 85 and this car qualifies for Autocheck Buyback Protection. The one accident reported in March 2012 was a woman hit my parked car at Griffith Park, and her insurance paid for a new bumper and paint.

Have both sets of keys including valet key, manual, flower vase and everything that came with the car originally. I bought the car new in 2006, I don't smoke and the plastic under the car that covers the engine is brand new. Full new set of tires.

Though I can't fathom why anyone would want my likeness off of their Beetle previously owned by THE Megumi O herself, the logo for my brand MEGUMI-O does peel off. They're stickers. By the way, the car was on TLC's What Not To Wear and Starving Actress (Download on Amazon). When I'm Rich & Famous, you may end up making a killing unloading the original MEGUMI-O Mobile! If you're into Kawaii Sanrio, I'll even throw in my Hello Kitty Headrest!

Before I agree to meet you for a test drive at the parking lot of Chase on Sunset & Vine in Hollywood, I will need to speak to you on the phone and have a photo of your Driver's License emailed or texted to me. When you test drive a car at a dealer, you leave the Driver's License with the dealer. When you tour an apartment community, you leave your Driver's License at the Leasing Office. I'm a licensed Real Estate Agent and one with a criminal record can't be licensed by the DRE. I assure you, I'm not out to scam you. These are precautions I'm taking for my own safety both physically and fiscally. If you think I'm being paranoid, Google "Craig's List Murders." If you don't live in Southern California and want the car shipped, please pay via eBay and handle the shipping yourself.

I'm in no rush to sell the car since I have plans to leave Hollywood to drive to a suburb next weekend. Make me a good offer or Buy It NOW!

Volkswagen debuts MkVII-based diesel Golf GTD

Thu, 21 Feb 2013

As Volkswagen prepares for the launch of the seventh-generation Golf, it continues to show off some of the car's different variants. With the standard Golf and the ultra-efficient BlueMotion Concept out of the way, now we're finally starting to see some of the sportier versions planned for the hatchback. Confirmed for a debut at the Geneva Motor Show, Volkswagen has now given us our first glimpse at the Golf GTD.
Just think of the GTD as a diesel version of the GTI with all the handling and styling upgrades, and then add a torquey engine to the equation. (We had the chance to sample the current GTD over the summer, so click here to read more.) To go with the new body style, VW also gave the GTD a new TDI engine consisting of a similar turbocharged and direct-injected 2.0-liter inline-four layout but with an output of 184 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque - that's an increase of 14 hp and 22 lb-ft over the current GTD. That's a pretty good oomph, but the GTD won't be setting any acceleration records with VW quoting a 0-62 mile per hour time of 7.5 seconds thanks to the car's 3,036-pound curb weight.
The styling of the MkVII Golf lends itself quite well to the more aggressive body kit found on the GTD (and likely matching the GTI). The new front fascia and blacked-out grille give the GTD a sporty look up front, while 17-inch sport wheels, rocker panel extensions and smoked LED taillights finish off the visual changes. The GTD will only be offered in three exterior colors: Tornado Red, Black and Pure White. As expected, the interior gets the plaid seat inserts and flat-bottomed sport steering wheel, but the car also gets stainless steel pedals, a black headliner, ambient cabin lighting and a specific gauge cluster readout.

Touring the Volkswagen Museum in Wolfsburg

Mon, 23 Sep 2013

Forgive the ribbon up top - this isn't so much of a Read This as a Look At This. Ran When Parked took a tour of the sprawling Volkswagen Museum in Wolfsburg, and while there's a spot of text about the different and unique vehicles on display in the rotating exhibits, it's largely the collection of pictures of odd, one-off VW-badged cars and vans that excites. If you're a fan of the weird and wild, this is a post you'll want to look at.
As RWP points out, this is the larger, but less busy, museum targeted purely at Volkswagen products. The smaller AutoStadt museum, meanwhile, covers a much broader swath, with products from other Volkswagen Group members. 2013 Volkswagen Jetta Hybrid

Tue, 12 Feb 2013

More Fun Than A Prius, Less Sensible Than A TDI
Let's have some fun, and do some math. We're talking pretty rudimentary stuff, multiplication and division, to figure out if the upcoming Volkswagen Jetta Hybrid can make a baseline case for itself against two very strong competitors in this segment. The competitors in question, at least for now, are two more Jettas: the diesel-drinking TDI and the fit-for-the-masses SE with VW's long-serving 2.5-liter engine.
To keep the equations clean and simple (hey, we're writers), we'll calculate based on the most flattering EPA miles per gallon stat from highway driving for all cars, assume a healthy 20,000 miles driven per year, and factor in today's average cost for the respective fuels these three require: diesel (TDI), regular (SE) and premium (Hybrid). We'll also start with the base prices for all models.
