1977 Vw Westfalia Camper Bus Orange & Arizona Rust Free, New 2.0 Fuel Injected on 2040-cars
Sedona, Arizona, United States
This is a 1977 VW Westfalia Camper Bus. I believe it to be originally bought or brought to Arizona in 1977 from a Arizona Inspection Sticker on the door frame. It is in good shape with no rust other than slight surface around front window and rust directly under battery location. I had the motor professionally rebuilt, all new, German parts, about a year ago. It has less than 10,000 miles on new motor. The whole nine yards; the motor purrs and will hold 65 down the road. I run larger, off road tires because we mostly use to camp on forest roads. I was planning on doing the interior myself...a year has gone by and its not happening. Hence the auction: its too nice not to pass on to someone with more skills and time. The interior is all original but not in great shape. We regularly camp in it. The pop top is perfect and I think its the original canvas. The couch and bed cushions are intact. The front seats are not. It has the original kid cot for the front, it has all original window drapes, including front and back, it has the original mosquito netting too. Basically, this bus has great structure and is ready for someones fine tuning. Its ready to be restored, that was my idea. Has the air condition unit too. The body is in relatively good shape. There are some small dings and scratches. But it is 35 years old. I rally in it quite a bit during skiing trips and off roading to outback camp and hiking locations. I run off road General AT's on the original rims. I'm not a VW purist so I'm sure there are many questions you will have. Please feel free to email me questions or to request time to chat. The vehicle is for sale locally. |

New VW Beetle Convertible ad needs no disguise
Mon, 18 Feb 2013Convertibles make you do funny things. Ask someone if they'd drive a hardtop in near freezing temperatures with all the windows down and they might not even answer, thinking the question so ridiculous. Give that same person a convertible they love and you might just have to ask them to please put the top up even when snow is on the ground.
That guy has to take precautions to enjoy his proclivities, and as this new ad for the Volkswagen Beetle Convertible shows, not everyone understands. Have a watch below, and note that there's just one woman in the minute-long spot, and she's nowhere near the car. Seriously, why didn't VW run this commercial during the Super Bowl?
VW promises 7-seat CUV for America in 2016
Mon, 13 Jan 2014On the eve of the Detroit Auto Show, Volkswagen chief executive Martin Winterkorn has confirmed the imminent arrival of a new crossover. The model, previewed at the same show last year by the CrossBlue concept pictured here, will be unique to the North American market when it arrives here in 2016. The new three-row, seven-seat crossover is part of an ambitious expansion plan on the part of Volkswagen and Audi in North America, where the two brands aim to sell a million vehicles by 2018.
That's a mighty big increase over the 600,000 vehicles which the Volkswagen Group sold here last year, but it's moving in the right direction: That number is already a 100-percent increase of what it sold here just five years ago. At that rate, VW should have little trouble meeting its goals, particularly with the arrival of the new crossover and the introduction of Golf production at its assembly plant in Puebla, Mexico. Read the full statement below for more.
VW midsize crossover production headed for Chattanooga
Fri, 10 Jan 2014Potential labor woes aside, it looks like Volkswagen's Chattanooga, TN factory must have done something that impressed the bosses in Germany, because it sounds like the three-year-old factory is set to score a second model.
The factory currently builds the Passat, and has been in the running alongside VW's Puebla, Mexico factory to build a new crossover vehicle, likely based on the CrossBlue Concept. According to Bloomberg, a pair of unnamed sources have confirmed that Chattanooga is the favorite ahead of an official announcement.
When last we heard about the CrossBlue Concept, word was that a production decision had been delayed over concerns about the three-row CUV's business case. That August 2013 story claimed that a decision regarding the CrossBlue would be pushed back until early in 2014, which means we're ripe for some sort of news, whether good or bad.
