1984 water cooled fuel injection VW Vanogen camper van with pop top. All in great condition, comes with tow pkg, roof racks, tinted windows, heat no AC, stereo CD & DVD player, fridgerator incld. but not installed, side canopy, privacy canopy cover front and side windows for camping, all tables, sink stove all good, auxillary battery and trickle solar charger, spare tire, jack battery charger, new tires new clutch, new brakes, rotors, new rear axle, all molly grease, new radiator, new speedometer cable, thermostat, cooling fan switch, heat sensor, water temp sensor. Needs new wiring to led light for speedometer, all lights work, flood lights, tail, blinkers. Motor runs great, very smooth on the road. has high miles but well cared for so I think it will keep on with yearly maintenance. I am the third owner, all in Southwest, no rust, I purchased the van in Show Low, AZ. I am selling as is and not offering shipping, buyer needs to arrange pickup. Lamando is Chinese for VW Jetta CC [w/video]
Sun, 31 Aug 2014Volkswagen is not messing around when it characterizes its new MQB architecture as modular. It's already underpinning the VW Golf, Audi A3, Seat Leon and Skoda Octavia, and will soon form the basis for many more. And here is the latest.
Unveiled at the Chengdu Motor Show in China this weekend is the new Volkswagen Lamando, a four-door coupe similar in size to a Jetta but with the svelter roofline of the larger Passat-based CC to go after the Mercedes-Benz CLA. It's essentially the production version of the New Midsize Coupe concept that previewed its arrival at the Beijing Motor Show this past April, and will be built locally for local consumption by VW's joint venture with SAIC.
Power comes from either a 1.4- or 2.0-liter turbo four mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox, with an equivalent price tag below $30,000. Whether this or any similar vehicle ever arrives in North American showrooms remains to be seen, but we'll be watching to find out. VW investigating Golf water leak discovered by car magazine
Sat, 07 Sep 2013Volkswagen is in a spat with German magazine Auto Bild over claims that its new, seventh-generation Golf may already need a recall. The German weekly reports that new Golfs can leak water into front-passenger footwells due to a faulty drainage tube in their air conditioning systems.
And while the fix itself doesn't sound too terrible, because Volkswagen bases so many cars off the same platform as the Golf, Auto Bild is claiming that 300,000 models could be affected, including the Audi A3 and Seat Leon. That's a very bold claim. For its part, VW is vehemently denying that number, according to Reuters, saying it's aware of the problem and claiming only 46 Golfs need fixing. In addition, it denies that any Audi or Seat models are affected by the issue.
Either way, regardless of how pervasive this leak issue is, North American buyers should rest easy knowing that the problems ought to get fixed by the time the Mk VII Golf finaly reaches our dealerships.
Last VW bus ever made arrives at final destination
Fri, 31 Jan 2014A Brazilian politician tried to save it, unsuccessfully, so the final Last Edition Volkswagen Type 2 Kombi was produced on December 20, 2013 and now resides in a vintage museum at Volkswagen's Commercial Vehicles HQ in Hanover, Germany.
The Volkswagen Microbus was built for 56 years, starting in September 1957. Brazil was the last country still assembling it, but new safety regulations in the country requiring airbags and ABS on all cars spelled the end. When that politician introduced a bill that would pardon only the 'Bus from a death sentence, it couldn't garner the required number of votes for passage. The South American country takes the Kombi production title, though, with 1.5 million of the 3.5 million total made in the home of Copacabana beach and the girl from Ipanema.
The VW Bus is dead. Now perhaps we can turn our attentions to the still-not-totally-settled matter of the Bulli...
