Camper Bus Raised Top Propane Stove Sink Icebox on 2040-cars
Hermosa Beach, California, United States
THIS 1972 VOLKSWAGEN CAMPER VAN SPENT ITS LIFE OF 42 YEARS IN THE DRY CLIMATE OF THE SOUTH WEST AND IT SHOWS. THE BODY IS IN GREAT SHAPE. I BELIEVE IT IS STILL WEARING ITS ORIGINAL PAINT AND WITH A WAX I THINK THIS THING WOULD SHINE NICELY.
IT HAS THE RAISED TOP, PROPANE STOVE, SINK, ICEBOX AND A 110 VOLT PLUG IN. THIS IS A GROOVY LOOKING OLD VAN THAT GETS LOTS OF COMPLIMENTS WHEREVER IT'S PARKED. THE VAN HAS BEEN SITTING FOR A FEW YEARS. THE MOTOR SOUNDS GOOD BUT IT WILL NEED THE GAS TANK CLEANED AND A TUNE UP TO GET IT RUNNING PROPERLY. THE INTERIOR IS IN GOOD SHAPE THERE IS A VERY SMALL DENT ON THE RIGHT REAR QUARTER PANEL BY THE WHEEL. THE BODY AND FLOOR BOARDS ARE IN GREAT SHAPE WITH THE EXCEPTION OF A VERY SMALL AREA ON THE PASSENGER FRONT. THIS CAMPER IS LOCATED ONLY 10 MILES FROM THE LOS ANGELES AIRPORT. I CAN HELP DELIVER IT TO THE SHIPPERS OR HELP WITH LOADING. DUE TO THE AGE OF THE CAR, IT IS BEING SOLD AS IS AND WITHOUT WARRANTY. IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS PLEASE CALL (310) 990-8628. |

Volkswagen Golf Wagon leaked ahead of official unveiling
Sat, 02 Mar 2013Wagons ho! These three images of the upcoming Volkswagen Golf Wagon have leaked online ahead of the car's official debut, which may very well be at the Geneva Motor Show. Looking over the photos doesn't really bring any surprises - after all, this is a VW Golf with a wagon rear end grafted on, or basically what we expect next Jetta SportWagen will be.
We can only share these three images at this time, but fret not, folks. There's little doubt that all the details and images will be flowing from Volkswagen in short order. In the meantime, click on the images above to view them in high resolution.
Lamborghini and Bentley may hold off on SUVs so VW can conserve cash
Thu, 11 Oct 2012After surveying the European economic scene, Volkswagen may have decided now is not the time to launch utility vehicles with Bentley and Lamborghini badges. Bentley officials say they will continue to push for support for the EXP 9 F and Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelman has said planning for the Urus will continue until VW tells it to stop.
That decision could come on November 23, when VW's board will vote on the company's budget for equipment, factories and vehicles. With VW's sales slowing and the Euro economy slumping further, some industry watchers say the company is more likely to build its cash reserves than to introduce super-expensive luxury SUVs or crossovers.
"Such vehicles are anything but obligatory during a crisis," says Frankfurt-based Equinet AG analyst Tim Schuldt in a new Automotive News Europe story. "Delaying their launch would be no drama but help save costs."
2014 Volkswagen XL1 [w/video]
Mon, 11 Mar 2013World's Most Efficient Car Impresses, Not Without Compromises
Among our many duties at the recent Geneva Motor Show, we were offered a pretty exclusive drive in the new Volkswagen XL1 hyper-efficient plug-in diesel hybrid. There is so much that is interesting about a car like this reaching production from a major automaker that it's tough to know where to begin.
First off, you should know that - at least for this generation - there is absolutely no chance in Albuquerque that this "1-liter vehicle" (i.e. a vehicle that can burn just one liter of fuel to travel 100 kilometers, or 62.1 miles) will ever make it into the hands of North American customers. We, too, were having trouble imagining an XL1 in typical American traffic, surrounded by comparatively massive pickups and SUVs. The driving experience had us recalling a couple of weeks in 1999 when we drove the then-revolutionary Honda Insight hybrid on US roads. We keenly remember the feeling of being very small and vulnerable, even as we felt proudly green in our 61-mpg Tochigi pod. Thing is, the Volkswagen is smaller still, and nearly as light despite its more complex drivetrain and safety features.
