Hi everyone,

I sell to you here my lovely Project. I have been working on the car for over 9 months now but am becoming a daddy this days. So I need to quit soon to make room and time for this new project. Thats the reason why I offer my Camper to someone who is willing to finish it. The hole car is finished to 65 %. My reserved price is only the costs for the materials, paint and parts. The work and time is not included, because thats the fun in the whole project.

Here is what I have done so far:

- Pre-cleaned the whole bus

- Got the entire interials out

- Took the windows out for sand stripping

- Sand stripped the whole chasis and many parts

- Repaired the broken or rusted body areas and filled them up

- Used Bando, primer and sanded the whole bus

- Painted the bus (PlastiDip) and almost all the parts

- Cleaned and rebuilt chrome parts, lights, radio, speedometer and other things

- Bought a CD-Player System and a Bass Box and other speakers and cables

- engine, starter and transmission are professionally rebuild (New Seals, Engine is not yet tested)

- New white wall Hankook tires, wheels newly painted and chrome hubcaps rebuilt (quite nice)

- Roof is cleaned, sanded, painted and reinstalled (works good, tent is missing)

- Fuel tank, firewall, fuel intake and engine area are rebuild

- Electric System checked by a professional (nearly everything can be used again)

- All small parts come in boxes or small bags

Here is what you need to do to finish it:

- Complete engine with the missing piston rings and one cylinder head needs to be cut to the right size for the bore ( I have done the hole engine together with a professional german volkswagen mechanic)

- Replace transmission seals and add new Hydraulic Oil (Shifts well so far)

- Install engine, transmission and muffler

- Install dashboard and speedometer, radio

- Install windows

- Install several bulbs

- Change clutch cable

- Check and maybe replace brake pads or system (Brakes are still working)

- Check and maybe replace shock absorbers (They are still working)

- Install door lock system and window system on both passenger and driver door

- Get started with the interior the way you like (I can provide old front and back seats)

- Install rear bumper and install or buy some seals

- Buy and install Volkswagen logo on the front (I planed to install that when I am finished)

- Repair hot air tube under the bus

- Install wipers and window clean system

- Install Power-inlet on side of the Camper

What is Part of the Deal:

Because it will be too many pictures to show everything I give you a summary of the main part groups you are getting:

- The BUS with new wheels, tires and so on (Ready to Roll)

- Engine (Cleaned and Rebuild with new Carburetor, Intake and so on)

- Transmission (Cleaned with a professional rebuild Starter on it)

- All Windows (Include NEW Front Windshield, old one was cracked)

- New Oil for Engine and Transmission

- Sound System (Bass Box, Super 8 Radio, original VW Radio, CD Radio)

- New parts for over 2000 $, All bills will be provided

- Front and backseats (Just removed and not rebuild yet)

- Several Tools (Floor Jack, Stands, Ramps and so one)

- Screws and small parts (nearly everything you need packed in boxes)

How can You get the Bus:

I recommend you come with a PICKUP TRUCK or a big VAN or SUV. Bring a Trailer that is able to hold the camper. The total weight of all the stuff is around 3400 lb. I am storing a lot stuff like the Transmission and a lot of small parts inside the bus right now. Small parts are packed in a dozen boxes. You also need a place to store the rear bumper, all windows and the front and back seats. The TRAILER you bring should be equipped with a wench to pull the bus on the Trailer. Pushing it on the Trailer by hand could maybe be to heavy.

The bus is in a quite good condition so far, but I am just a normal guy and not a volkswagen specialist. So I strongly recommend for you to look before you buy. There will be no negotiation after the auction. Please be sure you agree to all the terms in the auction. Bus ist 43 years old and not new!

2013 Volkswagen Beetle Turbo Convertible

Wed, 10 Apr 2013

Less Flower, More Power
Pardon our political incorrectness for a moment, but the Volkswagen New Beetle was, undeniably, a "chick car." There was almost nothing that the New Beetle offered to enthusiasts (of either gender), and by the end of its run, VW had even stripped all of the exciting engines from the car's lineup. Looking to resurrect some of the excitement behind the Beetle, the third generation of the iconic car ditched the cuteness when the coupe debuted for 2012, and now the 2013 Volkswagen Beetle Convertible aims to show how much fun drivers can have without a top.
Celebrating almost six and a half decades of the Beetle convertible, Volkswagen is offering a trio of distinct special editions that celebrate three of the car's most popular decades (the '50s, '60s and '70s), but as one of the unofficial cars of the 1960s, it would almost be a crime not to test this version, right? Besides, this is also the only special edition to get the turbocharged engine. While our first drive of the 2013 Beetle Convertible was in the fuel-miser TDI variation, our two-week romp in the 2013 Beetle Convertible '60s Edition came just as peak convertible weather was kicking off down in Florida.

$1.4B hedge fund suit against Porsche dismissed

Wed, 19 Mar 2014

Investors have canvassed courts in Europe and the US to repeatedly sue Porsche over its failed attempt to take over Volkswagen in 2008 (see here, and here and here), and they have repeatedly failed to win any cases. You can add another big loss to the tally, with Bloomberg reporting that the Stuttgart Regional Court has dismissed a 1.4-billion euro ($1.95B US) lawsuit, the decision explained by the court's assertion that the investors would have lost on their short bets even if Porsche hadn't misled them.
Examining the hedge funds' motives for stock purchases and the bets that VW share prices would fall, judge Carola Wittig said that the funds didn't base their decisions on the key bits of "misinformation," and instead were participating simply in "highly speculative and naked short selling," only to get caught out.
With other cases still pending, the continued streak of victories bodes well for Porsche's courtroom fortunes, since judges will expect new information to consider overturning precedent. If there is any new info, it could come from the potential criminal cases still outstanding against former CEO Wendelin Wiedeking and CFO Holger Härter, who were both indicted on charges of market manipulation.

Anti-union group files lawsuit against VW and UAW

Fri, 14 Mar 2014

The fight for unionization at Volkswagen's Chattanooga, TN, factory isn't letting up. Yesterday, the National Labor Relations Board decided to allow anti-United Auto Workers employees at the plant the right to defend voting down the measure. Now, a group called the National Right to Work Foundation has filed a federal lawsuit on behalf of five workers against VW and the UAW for allegedly working together to organize.
The group says in a release that it wants "to block further collusion between the company and the United Auto Workers." It alleges that VW forced workers to attend "mandatory pro-union meetings" and prevented managers from opposing. In a rebuttal on its website, the UAW called the claims "baseless" and said its actions were entirely legal.
One possible problem faces the carmaker in regards to the lawsuit. According to the Detroit Free Press, a recent US Court of Appeals ruling found that neutrality agreements like the one the business had with the UAW could be illegal if the company provided "things of value" to the union. The newspaper also claims that VW held a mandatory employee meeting concerning the election, but workers were free to leave during the UAW's presentation.
