We have never driven this car in the winter. Just a summer time, top down car on the weekends. 97,000 miles. Complete owner history. Original window sticker & lots of paper work. Mostly original paint but does show touch ups, scratches & dings. No rust ever. Nice original interior that does show some fading. Runs, drives, handles, stops very well. No issue car with an exception of non working AC which we have never looked into as top was always down. Overall a nice driver. Sold as is with no warranty expressed or implied. Volkswagen to add 50k jobs by 2018
Thu, 04 Apr 2013Volkswagen still has its eyes set on becoming the top global automaker by 2018, and to get there, it's apparently going to need more boots on the ground. Automotive News Europe is reporting that VW is looking to increase its staff by 50,000 over the next five years - an increase of nine percent - which does not include an increase in its US dealer network.
According to the report, a majority of the growth will come from China where the automaker is also looking to double its production capacity in the same time frame. The Volkswagen Group is already expected to rival General Motors for the top sales spot in China this year, and such a rapid expansion in the region could make a good springboard for sales increases in other countries.
Audi CVT suit settlement given green light, 64,000 cars covered
Mon, 07 Oct 2013Audi drivers, listen up. If you bought or leased a 2002-06 model-year A4 or A6 with a factory-installed Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) that failed, you may be entitled to reimbursement under a recently settled class-action lawsuit with corporate parent Volkswagen.
According to Automotive News, the settlement covers about 64,000 vehicles and alleges that "manufacturing and design problems caused the transmissions to fail and left owners stuck with repair costs." While the suit also argues Audi was aware of these issues (going so far as to hide that knowledge from consumers), the settlement stops short of acknowledging any wrongdoing by the German automaker.
Audi drivers are eligible for a cash reimbursement if their CVT repairs occurred within 10 years or 100,000 miles of the date they bought or leased the vehicle before June 19, 2013. To be eligible for compensation, drivers must submit a claim form (found here) with supporting documents by November 18.
