I have a 2002 Volkswagen Cabrio that is in good condition. It is automatic with 77,619 that may go up due to use. It also has leather heated seats with the leather having no rips or tears just the normal wear and tear due to driving and age. The passenger seat has one spot on the bottom that a spring is pushed up and is leaving a wear mark. The options work as they should with the exception of the cruise control which we could not get to engage. The exterior has some spots where the paint was owner repaired by the previous owner but there appears to be no rust on the car. We have replaced the battery, changed the spark plugs and wires, distributor cap and rotor as well as replaced the front motor mount. An oil change was also done. We checked the air filter which did not need to be replaced. The convertible top has no rips or tears and operates well. The tires have plenty of tread left. The car has the spare tire with jack and the boot cover. For West Virginia residents, the cabrio has a current WV inspection sticker. The car runs well and should give many more years of service. Buyer to pick up in Charleston, West Virginia. I will assist the buyer's transporter if you need to have it shipped. Buyer to pay $500 deposit within 24 hours of the end of auction.

Volkswagen to add 50k jobs by 2018
Thu, 04 Apr 2013Volkswagen still has its eyes set on becoming the top global automaker by 2018, and to get there, it's apparently going to need more boots on the ground. Automotive News Europe is reporting that VW is looking to increase its staff by 50,000 over the next five years - an increase of nine percent - which does not include an increase in its US dealer network.
According to the report, a majority of the growth will come from China where the automaker is also looking to double its production capacity in the same time frame. The Volkswagen Group is already expected to rival General Motors for the top sales spot in China this year, and such a rapid expansion in the region could make a good springboard for sales increases in other countries.
VW Up Buggy may be headed to showrooms
Tue, 02 Jul 2013Volkswagen showed six conceptual takes on its Up at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show, one of those being the Up Buggy. Although few will probably remember it, VW has not forgotten it, applying for a patent for the Meyers Manx revival roadster way back in March 2012 and being approved in June of this year, according to a report in Autocar. That will give the automaker a 14-year lock on the design while it decides whether to move forward with a reboot of its past.
A patent doesn't mean the Up Buggy will ever move beyond the sheet-of-paper stage, but Autocar says VW is studying the market to see if a production version is feasible. We can't see North America ever getting it, but even so, we wouldn't complain if they made it - especially if they put an exposed engine in back that was set off by 18-inch-long twin tailpipes jutting straight up into the air. However, for a company that aims to be the world's number-one automaker by 2018, a niche vehicle for its mass-market brand would be a surprising use of resources.
Chrysler slows minivan production, hasn't built VW Routan this year
Wed, 13 Mar 2013Chrysler has slowed production of its Town and Country and Dodge Grand Caravan minivans this week, Automotive News reports. The Windsor, Ontario plant will cut its three shifts from eight hours each to four hours each in an effort "to align production with market demand," a Chrysler spokesperson told AN. Chrysler also builds the closely related Routan minivan for Volkswagen at its Ontario facility, but has not built a single example thus far in 2013.
Sales of Chrysler's minivans fell 15 percent for the first two months of 2013, and a large part of that has to do with the 26-percent drop of the Grand Caravan alone (the T&C was only down by one percent). According to Automotive News data, as of March 1, Chrysler had an unsold inventory of 24,713 Town and Country models and 18,547 Grand Caravans - a 69- and 43-day supply, respectively.
"No sense running full speed now, then have a lot of vehicles sitting around a few months down the line," Chrysler spokeswoman Jodi Tinson told AN. Full production is expected to resume again on March 18.
