The 2001 Volkswagen Eurovan has plenty of upgrades, specifically more engine power due to a new multivalve cylinder head and other engine modifications. The 2.8-liter, V-6 engine bounds way ahead from its previous 140 horsepower to a stunning 201 hp. There’s also been some tweaking done to the electronic stability system that automatically applies the brakes and reduces engine power when needed to minimize skidding in turns. It gets some single seats for the second row, standard fog lights, and a new premium onboard sound system. The 2001 Volkswagen Eurovan’s big, boxy, and stout exterior seems to sum up the appearance best. With a wheelbase of 115 inches, it measures 76 inches tall, 72 inches wide, and 188 inches long. Its ground clearance is seven inches, and its curb weight comes in at 4300 pounds. The 2001 Volkswagen Eurovan has a new-and-improved 24-valve, V-6 engine and an impressive power-boost that gains 61 horsepower for a total output of 201. Acceleration is vigorous from a standstill, and the new engine means more gusto and sturdier handling, which is especially welcomed in such a large vehicle that’s quite top-heavy. Volkswagen Golf Wagon leaked ahead of official unveiling
Sat, 02 Mar 2013Wagons ho! These three images of the upcoming Volkswagen Golf Wagon have leaked online ahead of the car's official debut, which may very well be at the Geneva Motor Show. Looking over the photos doesn't really bring any surprises - after all, this is a VW Golf with a wagon rear end grafted on, or basically what we expect next Jetta SportWagen will be.
We can only share these three images at this time, but fret not, folks. There's little doubt that all the details and images will be flowing from Volkswagen in short order. In the meantime, click on the images above to view them in high resolution.
Updated J.D. Power APEAL study shines on VW Group, Chevy

Power has just revealed the results of its 2013 APEAL Study, which looks at which brands have the most appealing cars based on sales figures, dealer inventory, brand loyalty, transaction and trade-in prices. The study was revamped for 2013, and places a larger focus on the new tech and infotainment options available to customers. All told, study participants gauged their vehicles on 77 different attributes, delivering a score out of a 1,000 points.
The Volkswagen Group had the greatest success of any corporation, topping the APEAL rankings with the Audi Allroad, Porsche Boxster, Porsche Cayenne, VW GTI and Passat. Chevrolet had the highest number of awards for a single brand, though, with the Avalanche, Sonic and Volt all taking home a prize.
The best brand overall was Porsche, which scored 884 out of a possible 1,000 points. The top Japanese brand was Lexus with a score of 847, while the top American brand was Cadillac, at 841. The best mainstream brand was Ram, which received a very respectable 817. The industry average for this year's study was 795, with 16 brands, all of which were mainstream, falling below the average.
Skoda Octavia vRS is just the thing for your pumped-up neighborhood

Maybe it's the fact that it's a brand that we don't get in these United States, but Skoda's rebadged Volkswagens, in particular the new Octavia vRS shown here, are just different enough from the hum-drum VWs on our shores that the Czech brand seems strangely desirable. Maybe we're just craving forbidden fruit.
This short, minute-long spot covers the new vRS in a world of excess, where strollers ride on 26-inch wheels, lawnmowers feature V8 engines and ice cream cones are the size of toddlers. As things often go in these ads, the Octavia vRS draws the eyes of passerby that are seemingly use to things far more ridiculous than a reasonably priced Czech sedan. In reality, the Octavia should be fairly familiar to American buyers. It uses the same 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-pot found in the Volkswagen GTI and Jetta GLI, with 217 horsepower, and sits on the same platform as the Audi A3 and Volkswagen Golf.
