2002 Volkswagen 337 Gti Damaged on 2040-cars

This VW GTI 337 has front end damage. The engine, radiator and AC never leaked. The engine will run and the transmission will shift. The front clip was removed and I still have all the pieces. since the radiator was removed driving it is not an option. All of the original pieces are readily available as well as some cool aftermarket parts. The dash has had the air bags deploy but that is the only issue with the interior. The car was hydroplaned during a very heavy rainstorm and hit at an angle and spun around and bent the rear axle. I was going to fix the car back to original or better but i have a job that I travel a considerable amount and do not have time. IT HAS A CLEAN TITLE AS INSURANCE WAS NOT INVOLVED. I had contemplated parting out for a lot more money but I would just like to have that section of my garage back. If you have any questions please call my cell 580 370 1429 (Paul). VW redoes A-ha's 'Take On Me' music video
Wed, 18 Sep 2013Volkswagen has been responsible for its fair share of witty, clever commercials. "Tiny Vader" might be the most popular, but somehow, we think this newest spot will find a big audience. VW delivers not so much a cover, but a reimagining, of 1980s Norwegian pop band A-ha's famous music video for "Take On Me."
The original opens with an animated motorcycle race, which is revealed to be part of a comic book. VW's version replaces the motorcycle with a Passat, which strikes us as an oddly sober choice when there are cars like the GTI and Beetle in VW's portfolio. But never mind that - take a look down below for the entire 46-second spot. For reference, we've also included the original music video. And if you aren't a fan of the musical stylings of A-ha, just think, VW's choice of 1980s music could have been much worse.
VW agrees to halt next-gen rally car development to help others stay in WRC
Sat, 22 Jun 2013Volkswagen has petitioned the FIA to hold on to the current specifications for cars in the World Rally Championship, according to Autosport.com. The move is evidently an effort to keep as many competitors in the sport as possible, despite the fact that using the current spec racers may actually hurt Volkswagen's chances at winning. The three factory teams currently competing in the WRC are at the end of a three-year homologation cycle at the end of 2013, and new cars are expected to bow next year. But developing new racers could cost as much as $4.7 million.
That price tag would put M-Sport (which fields Ford racers) out of the WRC game for 2014 and would put Citroën participation in question as well. VW has already begun work on the next iteration of its Polo R WRC, and the hatch has nabbed four wins in six rounds this season. Now it appears that car won't bow until at least 2015. The FIA has officially agreed to freeze homologation of new WRC cars until the end of next season.
Carlex Criollo is a Volkswagen Multivan shrine to Alcantara, leather and... fish
Wed, 10 Jul 2013A keen angler recently went to Polish tuner Carlex Design (the same folks who did that steampunk Mini Countryman a while back) for a revamp of his Volkswagen Multivan. What resulted is perhaps the most striking - yet fishing-unfriendly - interior we've ever seen in a van. Below the shoulder line, if a surface isn't covered in cross-stitched Alcantara, then it's covered in cross-stitched leather. Even the steering wheel airbag boss. And the seat supports. And the cupholders.
The brown hue of the Multivan's interior is called Criollo, named for an especially fine specimen of cocoa. The finishing touch on the overhaul is a fileting knife that Carlex made for the owner. We imagine he'll use the knife for the marine life, but keep his van far away from it.
