Up for auction is a great 2003 Volkswagen Golf GL TDI. This Golf is a Florida one owner vehicle with only 78k miles. Great color combo, silver exterior and black interior. This is a rare find. This diesel Golf is in excellent condition inside and out. The Golfs paint is in excellent condition with no weather damage, appears to have been garaged kept. The tires are approximately 75%, the air conditioning is ice cold and the engine and transmission are in excellent running condition. These diesel Golfs often get 50 mpg.
The front of the hood has a few stone chips, the drivers side seat has a small hole in the seat back (about 2 inches).  The shifter boot has wear consistent with age and milage. I did not notice any other damages on the vehicle.
You will not be disappointed with this Golf. Please feel free to contact me Rob Causer with any questions you may have. I can be reached by text or phone at 813 600-7324.

Volkswagen Golf voted 2013 European Car of the Year

Tue, 05 Mar 2013

The seventh-generation Volkswagen Golf just went on sale in Europe, but it is already off to a promising start. Announced as the Geneva Motor Show kicked off, the newest Golf was named European Car of the Year for 2013 in dominating style over cars like the Subaru BRZ/Toyota GT86 twins, Volvo V40, Ford B-Max and Mercedes-Benz A-Class.
According to Automotive News Europe, the MkVII Golf won handily over its rivals with a total of 414 votes. The Subaru BRZ and Toyota GT86 received 202 votes finishing in a distant second, while the Volvo V40 (189 votes), Ford B-Max (148 votes) and Mercedes-Benz A-Class (138 votes) round out the top five. The new Golf marks the third Volkswagen product to receive the prestigious award with previous cars including the MkIII Golf and the most recent iteration of the Polo.

Volkswagen drops "GTi" lawsuit against Suzuki

Tue, 02 Oct 2012

Way back in 2004, Volkswagen took umbrage with Suzuki being granted permission to use the nameplate "SWIFT GTi" for a performance variant of its small-car offering (2012 equivalent seen here). Now, eight years and surely some very steep legal bills later, VW has finally dropped its claim against Suzuki.
The General Court of the European Union stated, back in March of this year, that Suzuki's GTi registration could not be confused with VW's "Golf GTI." Volkswagen had appealed that ruling, though has now reportedly called off the dogs. In fact, Germany's Die Welt reports that the appeal has been dead for several weeks now.
This news comes amongst continued arbitration acrimony between the two automakers, all revolving around VW's forced divestiture of nearly 20-percent stake it purchased in Suzuki some two years ago.

2015 VW Golf R caught getting a flogging on 'Ring

Wed, 22 May 2013

The upcoming version of the Volkswagen Golf R is nearly ready for prime time, if this video of the car flying around the Nürburgring is any indication. The all-wheel-drive R seems to make quick, neat work of the corners we see here, and sounds pretty devilish in the process.
Expectations are that the new Golf R will run a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder (what else?), tuned to produce even more than the current car's 256 horsepower. (Some sources have indicated outputs as high as 286 horsepower, with 280 pound-feet of torque. It's still not clear if Volkswagen will bring the six-speed dual-clutch transmission to the US-spec Golf R in this next go-round or if we'll stick to having only... eh... the stick.
In either case - watching the video below will only whet your appetite for the new, highest performing member of the Golf family.
