Driver-side Fender (see photo) - hit/scratched when getting out of a parking spot.  Was dark and turned my car not knowing a pole was there.
Left-passenger-side body (see photo) - happened when the car was parked. The person who did it left without giving notice.

**Misc Issues
Airbag indicator on
A/C Control lights out
Left-side window one-touch up/down not working (must keep pressing/lifting)
Arm-rest compartment lid detached (no issue when in normal position)

**Notes
One owner. Purchased in Aug 2004 at Commonwealth VW in Santa Ana, CA
Farthest traveled was Las Vegas, NV
Only fueled at Chevron
Used only Chevron’s “Supreme” gas for 5 years, and then “Plus” gas after 5 years. No “Regular” used. NEVER.
Warmed up everyday, every time, until RPM went down to about 800.  Missed warm-up less than 10 times (no kidding)
NO ACCIDENT. Never went to a body shop.
Replaced with new shocks/struts in Sep 2012 at Pepboys. (Receipt available) @154,147 miles
New tires (x4) installed in Aug 2012 @153,744 miles
Never raced with the car. RPM went over 4,000 less than handful of times.
When you hear the engine and take a test drive, you will know that engine is in a real good condition. (Not much different from when I first purchased the car)

Europeans get first crack at new Golf Variant wagon

Mon, 04 Mar 2013

Just last week, when we brought you news of a new Volkswagen Golf variant out and testing in Europe, we had no idea we were being so literal with out description. For it seems that VW has every intention of calling its new Golf wagon, making its Geneva debut, the "Golf Variant."
Odd/interesting sobriquets taken as read then, there's a lot to like about this new small wagon from VW. The Variant will shed some 232 pounds in this generation, and will come to market with two efficient TDI engines. Volkswagen isn't giving us displacement figures for either yet, but we're told the diesels will come with outputs of 110 and 150 horsepower. The 110-hp TDI BlueMotion Varient will be good for a whopping 71.3 miles per gallon on the European cycle, when mated to the six-speed manual transmission.
The German automaker has brought along an all-wheel-drive 4Motion version of the Gold Variant to bow in Geneva, as well, and a natural gas-burning TGI BlueMotion is said to be "in the pipeline."

Editors' Choice: Top Five 2013 Geneva Motor Show Debuts

Fri, 08 Mar 2013

We've returned from a very busy week in Switzerland, and in going back over all of our 75 stories from the Geneva Motor Show, our editors have gathered up their personal favorite debuts from the European expo.
The wonderful thing about the Geneva show is just how wide of an array of vehicles are on display - everything from funny little one-off EVs to the most exotic of supercars to, well, truly ridiculous displays of coachbuilding. And because of that, this list of our editors' favorites might not be as predictable as you think.
But we don't want to give anything away just yet. Scroll down to have a look at our team's favorites from Geneva.

Volkswagen breaks 40-year-old sales record in 2012

Sun, 13 Jan 2013

The last time Volkswagen moved this many vehicles in America in one year, Richard Nixon was still a President in good standing, Let It Be was a radio hit and each car wearing the VW badge boasted an air-cooled engine. That's right, with a grand total of 580,286 vehicles sold in the US last year, the VW Group has broken its own four-decades-old sales record by 2,899 vehicles.
Of that 580k total sold, 438k were Volkswagens and 139k were Audi products - increases of 35.1 percent and 18.5 percent, respectively, in year-over-year sales. The ultra-premium members of the VW group also fared well; Bentley delivered 2,315 vehicles for a 23.3-precent increase, and Lamborghini delivered 520 units for a 52.9-percent jump. Bugatti, we're told is "right on track."
Jetta (pictured) sales paced the marque with 170k models sold, and Passat also finished very strong with sales of 117k total. Tiguan also racked up its best year on file, with 31,731 models shifted.
