It is time to sell the old family car. This is a great running car that has had scheduled maintenance completed such as routine fluid and filter changes and timing belt. It is in good condition for its age and mileage. We have owned the car since December of 2004 and bought it with 30k miles on it. Since that time it has been a super reliable car and always gets 40-50 miles per gallon. It has always received oil changes with the VW 502 spec synthetic oil and it has had timing belts at 70k and 140k miles. It doesn't burn or leak any oil. The A/C and heater work well. It has a fresh oil change and fuel filter change. This car has always been an indoor car with a spot in the garage. I would not hesitate to hop in this car and take it anywhere.
The car has some options not listed above including power mirrors, rear defroster and wiper, a rear 12volt power point, rear headrests, latch system for child car seats, and fold down rear seats.
Now, the rest. This is a 10 year old car. It is in above average condition, but it has a few minor nicks and scratches in the paint. It has minor wear on the usual items on the interior. The front seats are not ripped or stained, but do have covers on them to perk up an older car. The tires are on the last 1/3rd of their life. The windshield has a small chip on the passenger side. It has been filled and has remained stable for several years.
I require a $500 deposit via paypal within 48 hours of auction end. The balance is due within 7 days via cash, bank wire transfer, or certified bank cashiers check.
I encourage you to call me at 707 599 2315 with any questions and to come see and drive the car if you are local.
If not local, I will work with your shipper, but the arrangements and cost are up to you.
After paid in full, I can provide free indoor storage for 7 days. After that it will be $20 per day to store.
If you have zero ebay feedback, call me before you bid.
Please only bid if you intend to buy.
Thank you for looking.

2015 VW Golf R caught getting a flogging on 'Ring
Wed, 22 May 2013The upcoming version of the Volkswagen Golf R is nearly ready for prime time, if this video of the car flying around the Nürburgring is any indication. The all-wheel-drive R seems to make quick, neat work of the corners we see here, and sounds pretty devilish in the process.
Expectations are that the new Golf R will run a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder (what else?), tuned to produce even more than the current car's 256 horsepower. (Some sources have indicated outputs as high as 286 horsepower, with 280 pound-feet of torque. It's still not clear if Volkswagen will bring the six-speed dual-clutch transmission to the US-spec Golf R in this next go-round or if we'll stick to having only... eh... the stick.
In either case - watching the video below will only whet your appetite for the new, highest performing member of the Golf family.
GM outsold VW globaly in first quarter, Toyota reports numbers next week
Thu, 18 Apr 2013General Motors released its first quarter sales figures this week, reporting that it sold 2.36 million cars and trucks worldwide. That figure represents an increase of 3.6 percent when compared to the same period last year. GM's growth was attributed to many factors, including global Cadillac sales that were up 26 percent and Chevrolet posting a one percent increase over last year (this marked Chevy's tenth straight year of record global sales).
Volkswagen came in just behind GM, as the German automaker reported global sales from January through March at 2.27 million vehicles, an increase of five percent when compared to last year. While that number was strong, VW is cautioning that markets outside China and the US, such as those in Europe, are becoming a challenge as economies falter.
Yet to report sales is Toyota, current holder of the global world sales crown (the Japanese company sold 9.75 million cars last year, against 9.29 million sold by GM and 9.1 million vehicles sold by VW). Even though GM and Toyota both say they don't care who sells the most units, it is unquestionably a strong bragging point and sales equate to revenue. That said, Toyota will report its first quarter numbers next week.
VW going turbo-only in 3 to 4 years
Wed, 18 Sep 2013This really was a matter of when, rather than if. Volkswagen will apparently be the first manufacturer to phase out naturally aspirated engines in favor of turbocharging its full slate. VW is kind of responsible for ushering in this push towards small-displacement, turbocharged engines that's taken the industry by storm. When it dropped its direct-injection, 2.0-liter turbo in the 2005 GTI it demonstrated that strapping an iron long to an engine can enhance the powertrain as a whole. VW made fuel economy gains, while also giving a linear, non-laggy turbo experience that it has replicated, model-after-model, to this day.
Speaking with The Detroit News, Volkswagen's executive Vice President of Group Quality, Marc Trahan, told the paper that, "We only have one normally aspirated gas engine, and when we go to the next generation vehicle that it's in, it will be replaced. So three, four years maximum."
Really, it's hard to get teary-eyed about either of these engines going away. VW has access to smaller powerplants that could easily match the performance of the 2.5 five-cylinder and the 3.6 V6, while gobbling up less fuel and providing a better driving experience. What we are sad about is that a similar statement about the extinction of NA engines came from the Vice President of Powertrain Engineering at Ford, Joe Bakaj. We'd certainly get teary-eyed over a world without Ford's excellent 5.0-liter V8.
