Hi, up for NO RESERVE bid is my 2003 VW Jetta Wolfsburg Edition...This was my baby up until a week ago..I was coming home from work and the water pump blew and caused further damage to the timing belt...THE CAR DOES NOT RUN RIGHT NOW DUE TO THAT...NEEDS ENGINE WORK!!! I took it to get fixed at the dealership and it was too much for me to fix..They told me fragments of the back of the water pump went into the block possibly(I WILL PROVIDE THAT PAPER EXPLAINING THAT FROM THE DEALERSHIP)...So its gonna need a WATER PUMP and TIMING BELT for sure and DRIVE BELT..I told the dealership to not continue the work and I took the car back, decided to go buy a new one,and put this one on Ebay..Up until this happened this was my baby..Drove GREAT...5 SPEED TRANS is perfect..clutch is perfect..brakes great..body is a 8 out of a 10...interior is near mint with no rips anywhere..It has ANGEL EYE custom headlights(i have the factory ones still)..and custom taillights..fully loaded with everything....everything with power works( sunroof, windows, cruise control, power trunk, heated seats,heat,AC,ect.)..it has 19 INCH black rims with chrome lip(rims are only in FAIR condition..look good from 20 feet away)..and new tires BUT the front 2 have "hair line" cracks in them(tires alone were $500)..theres a blemish on the front hood(see pics)..and 2 very small "carrige dents" on passenger side front door..the emergency brake DOES NOT WORK..it also has tinted windows and Monsoon factory system...All the parts that the dealer took off are neatly in box(see pics)...Driver side front fender is starting to get a little rust(see pics)..I have a clear title in my name..This car was never raced(I am 40 years old and im too old for that B.S.)..It has the 1.8 TURBO engine...This is what I've changed in the last 6 months> catalytic converter..coil packs..spark plugs..air filter..both knock sensors..02 sensor..1 rear brake caliper..coolant reservoir.and.valve cover gasket..(spent over $600 alone under the hood)this is PERFECT for a mechanic with some time.motor ran GREAT before water pump went..145K miles..AGAIN, CAR DOES NOT RUN..NEEDS TO BE TOWED/PICKED UP BY BUYER or SHIPPING SET UP BY BUYER!!! good luck bidding

VW recalling 2.64M vehicles worldwide over engine, light issues
Thu, 14 Nov 2013Volkswagen is staging a massive, worldwide recall that's already grown from 1.68 million to 2.64 million vehicles and covers three different issues across a number of vehicles. We already reported on 61,000 Tiguans getting recalled over lighting issues - that was just in the US. Globally, however, VW will be recalling 800,000 Tiguans, according to Automotive News, with the focus on CUVs built between 2008 and 2011. The issue with the Tiguan relates to a simple fuse swap, so this is rather unremarkable, aside from the sheer number of vehicles being fixed. The real, troubling issues relate to gearboxes and pickups.
239,000 Amarok pickups (pictured right) are being recalled over fuel leaks, while 1.6 million vehicles are being recalled to swap the synthetic oil in dual-clutch transmissions with mineral oil. Now, the transmission issue is one for the global Volkswagen Group to address, not just the VW brand - vehicles from Audi, Škoda and Seat use the same seven-speed DSG and are covered under the recall, as well.
Why the switch from synthetic to mineral oil? Apparently, using the synthetic oil in a DSG and then subjecting it to stop-and-go conditions or heavy loads in a hot and humid climate can lead to electronic malfunctions, according to a Volkswagen press release. The switch, from the sounds of it, is largely a preventative measure.
VW joins Daimler's protest of new A/C refrigerant as EU deadline for compliance passes
Sun, 06 Jan 2013The case of Dupont and Honeywell's refrigerant R-1234yf is doing the exact opposite of keeping things cool. The two chemical companies have spent years and hundreds of millions of dollars developing R-1234yf to replace R-134a, the new refrigerant shown to be 99.7-percent kinder to the environment than the one it is meant to succeed. Part of that development has been years of testing by governments, outside safety agencies and automakers to approve the chemical for use in cars. It passed the protocols necessary for the European Union to declare that new and significantly revised cars from 2013 onward needed to use R-1234yf, and mandated that every car as of 2017 must use it.
Enter Daimler AG. The automaker created a head-on collision test with a B-Class at their Sindelfingen test track that would lead to the pressurized refrigerant being sprayed on the engine. The result in 20 out of 20 test was that the refrigerant burst into flames as soon as it hit the hot engine, while Daimler says that R-134a does not catch fire in the same test. Another unexpected result of the R-1234yf test was the release of hydrogen flouride, a chemical far more deadly to humans than hydrogen cyanide, emitted in such amounts that it that turned the windshield white as it began to eat into the glass.
Said a Daimler engineer in a Reuters piece, "It was scarcely believable. The most complicated lab tests conducted using the most sensitive measuring instruments around found nothing and all we do is drive a car around a couple of times, open a tiny hole in the refrigerant line and the next thing you know the car is on fire." So Daimler said it wouldn't use the refrigerant, and it recalled the cars it had already shipped with R-1234yf.
Skoda unveils Volkswagen Up!-based Citigo
Tue, 27 Sep 2011This is the all-new Skoda Citigo, and if you're thinking that it looks rather familiar, that's because its Volkswagen-badged kin recently debuted at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show. That's right, the long-rumored Skoda version of Volkswagen's new Up! city car has finally arrived.
Buyers will have a choice of two 1.0-liter three-cylinder engines - one with 59 horsepower, the other with a 74 hp and a blistering 106 mph top speed - both mated to a five-speed manual transmission. Powerful they are not, but these three-bangers should prove to be extremely efficient, with Skoda quoting fuel economy numbers of 62.8 and 60.1 miles per gallon, respectively (on the European cycle).
Being a Skoda, the Citigo will go on sale in its home market of the Czech Republic this fall, with the rest of Europe getting the car next summer. Follow the jump for Skoda's official release.
