Thank you for viewing this 05 Volkswagen Passat TDI with the legendary 2.0L Turbo Diesel motor. CARFAX reports this car to be a ONE OWNER and no ACCIDENTS. The exterior paint is in good condition as it sure shows that it was taken care of. The vehicle's interior looks great and it is in far better condition than what is expected for its age. All interior components seem to be in good working order. The engine starts right up with absolutely no problems and the transmission shifts very smoothly. Again you can tell this car was well taken care of. There is no a shimmy or shake and the brakes do not pulsate one bit. I have driven this car for about 150 miles.  Its a nice solid running car. If you have been in the market for a nice TDI that you can use as a nice driver with great fuel mileage then you have found it. To make this auction even more appealing we have decided to offer it for a 7 DAY AUCTION with NO RESERVE. All of our listings include standard equipment and can vary at times from the actual vehicle so if you see something listed and not pictured please call to verify. VW recalling 2.64M vehicles worldwide over engine, light issues

Thu, 14 Nov 2013

Volkswagen is staging a massive, worldwide recall that's already grown from 1.68 million to 2.64 million vehicles and covers three different issues across a number of vehicles. We already reported on 61,000 Tiguans getting recalled over lighting issues - that was just in the US. Globally, however, VW will be recalling 800,000 Tiguans, according to Automotive News, with the focus on CUVs built between 2008 and 2011. The issue with the Tiguan relates to a simple fuse swap, so this is rather unremarkable, aside from the sheer number of vehicles being fixed. The real, troubling issues relate to gearboxes and pickups.
239,000 Amarok pickups (pictured right) are being recalled over fuel leaks, while 1.6 million vehicles are being recalled to swap the synthetic oil in dual-clutch transmissions with mineral oil. Now, the transmission issue is one for the global Volkswagen Group to address, not just the VW brand - vehicles from Audi, Škoda and Seat use the same seven-speed DSG and are covered under the recall, as well.
Why the switch from synthetic to mineral oil? Apparently, using the synthetic oil in a DSG and then subjecting it to stop-and-go conditions or heavy loads in a hot and humid climate can lead to electronic malfunctions, according to a Volkswagen press release. The switch, from the sounds of it, is largely a preventative measure.

VW pondering low-cost sub-brand for China?

Wed, 30 Jan 2013

More detail is being sketched into the Volkswagen Group's plan to launch a low-cost brand for emerging markets. Late last year a German report quoted a VW rep saying that the brand has been interested in building a no-frills car, the kind that would challenge Dacia and Datsun, for a while. With both Proton and Suzuki effectively out of the partnership picture, a report in Reuters suggests VW could go straight to China, developing a car with its joint venture partners and building and selling it there.
Officially, company CEO Martin Winterkorn said the issue of a model for emerging markets would be decided this year but VW isn't any closer to confirming any kind of plan for a car in its portfolio underneath the Up!, remarking to Reuters about the China possibility, "That's an issue we're currently looking at."
