1996 vw passat tdi (diesel)sedan up for sale,its been my daily driver,grocery getter,soccer mom and more for me and my wife for the last 9yrs.i've had the car since 51,000mi and now it has 231,000.maintance on this vechile has had a oil change every 5,000mi,(synthenic) (2) timing belt changes(1)just at 192,000mi,manual trans oil every 2yrs(synthenic),fuel filters(2yrs),just changed at 230,000,clutch at 210,000mi w/ new axles,injectors at 152,000mi.its been a good running carand still is being used everyday(40mpg)but now its time for a update so there some issues that i have let go just because i am updating.has a miss when cold,seems to be maybe an injector going,some rust on the body,nothing major but probaly in the next 2yrs its going have to be taken care of,a/c does not work has a leak,3 hub caps,crack in windshield,clear coat coming offf,headliner was coming apart so i pulled it out and painted it and the exhaust i had some pieces and welded them together to pass last years inspection.motor and drivetrain seems like it last forever..................any questions or more pictures you can contact me thur e-mail...............no reserve auction.........jim

Lamando is Chinese for VW Jetta CC [w/video]
Sun, 31 Aug 2014Volkswagen is not messing around when it characterizes its new MQB architecture as modular. It's already underpinning the VW Golf, Audi A3, Seat Leon and Skoda Octavia, and will soon form the basis for many more. And here is the latest.
Unveiled at the Chengdu Motor Show in China this weekend is the new Volkswagen Lamando, a four-door coupe similar in size to a Jetta but with the svelter roofline of the larger Passat-based CC to go after the Mercedes-Benz CLA. It's essentially the production version of the New Midsize Coupe concept that previewed its arrival at the Beijing Motor Show this past April, and will be built locally for local consumption by VW's joint venture with SAIC.
Power comes from either a 1.4- or 2.0-liter turbo four mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox, with an equivalent price tag below $30,000. Whether this or any similar vehicle ever arrives in North American showrooms remains to be seen, but we'll be watching to find out. Volkswagen Golf Wagon leaked ahead of official unveiling
Sat, 02 Mar 2013Wagons ho! These three images of the upcoming Volkswagen Golf Wagon have leaked online ahead of the car's official debut, which may very well be at the Geneva Motor Show. Looking over the photos doesn't really bring any surprises - after all, this is a VW Golf with a wagon rear end grafted on, or basically what we expect next Jetta SportWagen will be.
We can only share these three images at this time, but fret not, folks. There's little doubt that all the details and images will be flowing from Volkswagen in short order. In the meantime, click on the images above to view them in high resolution.
Volkswagen NMC production guise caught in China
Tue, 29 Apr 2014Chinese car site Autohome has what are said to be the first pictures of the Volkswagen New Midsize Coupe concept in production form. VW's NMC was just introduced at the Beijing Motor Show, while background chatter indicated it would go on sale in China, Autohome says that production version will be built at the Shanghai-Volkswagen plant in Ningbo, and the retail guise could be introduced at the Guangzhou Motor Show in November and go on sale that same month.
Assuming this is the production car, its main lines have made the jump from the concept but with less fine detailing, a silver hue and with conventional VW wheels it's lost a little bit of oomph. Still, a few checkmarks on the option sheet can fix most of that, the shape remains handsome and the 2.0-liter turbo underhood keeps performance peppy and mileage frugal enough.
