1993 Volvo 240 Classic Limited Edition #202 Of 1600 - Rare! Only 106k Miles!! on 2040-cars
Portsmouth, New Hampshire, United States
1993 Volvo 240 Classic #202 of 1600!! Only 106k miles!! Excellent condition Volvo 240 Classic from Virginia, no rust, near mint interior, runs and drives excellent. Im a collector, I found this car in Newport News VA this winter. Older couple hadn't used it much since 2000, it was sitting in garage. Has 106k miles on working odometer which matches carfax history. I shipped it and had the work done that was needed - replaced spark plugs, dist. cap, fuel filter, crank sensor, power antenna, trans shifter bushing, water pump and heater core. As you Volvo fans know a heater core is costly. Has front and rear sway bars. Tires have plenty of tread. It is now ready to go and in excellent daily driver condition. The interior is near mint, everything works except rear passenger window. No cracks in dash, all plastics in great shape except cracked passenger door pillar molding. Seats have rare headrest covers! Body is rust free, has few flaws some minor rub wear on front air dam corners, some touch up paint spots on drivers door, but I am being picky. I would give interior a solid 9 and exterior a 7.5 - 8. Car is located in Portsmouth NH, 1 hour north of Boston. |

Next Polestar Volvo sounds great, whatever it is
Fri, 15 Nov 2013Something - we don't know what yet - is coming from Polestar. While we'll be recovering from next week's LA Auto Show and Tokyo Motor Show (and starting to slack off ahead of an extended Thanksgiving weekend), the official tuner of Volvo products has announced plans to unveil its latest creation in less than two weeks.
Based on this video teaser, we can only imagine (and hope) that it's the souped-up Volvo V60 recently caught testing by our spy shooters. The idea of a high-performance Volvo wagon was already enough to get us giddy last month, but the exhaust note in this video is downright captivating. Scroll down to watch the teaser for yourself, and be prepared for some bright blue wagony goodness to be revealed on November 26.
Volvo planning Golf rival, 'breathtaking' C60 coupe
Wed, 01 May 2013Despite just having refreshed nearly its entire portfolio, Volvo is still in the middle of a big product offensive. Vehicles like the C30 hatchback and C70 convertible have been given the axe, but a brand-new platform is being developed in addition to the Scalable Platform Architecture (SPA) that will underpin larger vehicles. According to Automobile, this means some very interesting newcomers may be on tap for the brand.
Volvo, in collaboration with Geely, is said to be working on a new platform about the size of a Volkswagen Golf that will likely spawn both a sedan and hatchback. Automobile reports that while the automaker's new scalable architecture is quite flexible, it cannot be stretched (or rather, shrunk) to accommodate a smaller vehicle.
Instead, SPA will be used for the company's larger offerings, starting with the V40 on the small end. (Though to our eyes, the current V40 looks plenty Golf-sized to us.) A new XC40 is apparently in the works, as is an S90 flagship, and new versions of the XC60, XC90 and S60 will all be coming based on this new flexible architecture.
Volvo considering offering V60 wagon in the US
Tue, 12 Mar 2013For the 2014 model year, the Volvo product line is shrinking to just five models in the United States: the S60, S80, XC60, XC70 and XC90. This comes following the death of the C30 hatchback and C70 convertible, which are being discontinued after the 2013 model year. The S40 sedan and V50 wagon were axed two years ago, as was the larger V70.
That may not be the case, however. According to Automotive News, Volvo is rethinking its decision to not sell the V60 wagon, pictured, in the United States. The automaker had originally decided to not offer the V60 in our market due to declining American wagon sales. A decision is expected to be made sometime in the next quarter, and if approved, sales of the V60 could begin in the US within the next year.
At the Geneva Motor Show last week, Volvo showed off refreshed versions of nearly every vehicle in its lineup. In the US, these will be the only changes coming to the Volvo brand over the next two years. The next big product launch in the States will be the all-new XC90 crossover, developed under new parent company Geely. The range-topping SUV will ride on the company's new flexible SPA platform, which will also underpin the next-generation versions of the S60, S80 and XC60.
