I have too many cars and have to sell the Volvo. I'm the second owner of the Volvo, I had the engine replaced with a "new" (not rebuilt) engine, the engine block is from Sweden, the wiring harness is still original for those of you who know about this, there are no issues with the 1984 model wiring harness. I had the Turbo unit replaced with a rebuilt unit. This Volvo's engine is in new car running condition.

The body has no dents or missing pieces, however on the roof and the rear boot (trunk lid) the clear coat paint is pealing. The exterior plastics are all in great shape and all straight and tight.

The interior is excellent for it's age. The leather seats have zero rips, however there is color fade on the leather...this leather seats are top quality thick leather, again there are zero rips. The headliner is perfect. The dash has about four cracks in it, I ordered a custom dash cover to stop further cracking from occurring in the sun. All Volvo 240's are known for flimsy plastics and cracking of the plastics on the center seat console and side front passenger and driver door pockets, I removed those pieces from this Volvo as they too were cracked. They are easy to find here on eBay and are easy to install.

The heater and A/C unit currently on the Volvo do not work. Everything else on the Volvo work perfectly, all power windows, power door locks, power stereo antenna and the manual sunroof crank.

I took a video, have a look: http://youtu.be/dnJzkvB4F7U

Volvo XC90 First Edition sells out in 47 hours

Fri, 05 Sep 2014

Two days ago, Volvo opened the order books on its completely new 2015 XC90 crossover, and just like that, all of the 1,927 First Edition models were reserved in a scant 47 hours. According to Volvo, most of the vehicles were reserved within one hour of the online ordering site launching, and at its peak, seven cars were being sold each minute.
First Edition models wear a unique Onyx Black exterior, and ride on eight-spoke, 21-inch wheels. Inside, amber nappa leather covers the seats, the dashboard is lined in charcoal leather, and there are walnut inlays throughout the cabin.
Under the hood, the XC90 First Edition can be had with either a four-cylinder Drive-E gasoline or diesel engine (if you live in markets outside the US, of course). The twin-charged T6 petrol model comes with 320 horsepower, and sends its power to the ground via all-wheel drive.

Volvo fires up S60 and V60 Polestar production

Mon, 30 Jun 2014

We were pretty smitten with the Volvo S60 and V60 Polestar models during our First Drive in Sweden a few months ago. We especially loved the way that its Öhlins adjustable dampers offered a perfect balance between suppleness and sporty handling. Now, the rest of the world will finally be getting the chance to take the Polestar models for a spin because Volvo is shipping out the first units of the limited-edition vehicles.
Their completion marks the first time ever that Polestar-tuned models have come off the line at Volvo's Torslanda factory. However, production of the 350-horsepower hatchback and sedan is very limited. Volvo is building a total of just 750 of them for the world market, and the US is only getting 80 wagons and 40 sedans.
In addition to the cutting-edge dampers and more powerful engine, both Polestar models benefit from a rear-biased all-wheel-drive system routed through a six-speed automatic with paddle shifters and launch control. Six-piston Brembo calipers bring things to a halt, and the limited models get unique front and rear fascias and 20-inch wheels. These are two very hot Swedes, and if rumors are right, then there are even more tuned Volvos from Polestar on the way. Scroll down to read the full announcement.

Volvo will replace C70... eventually

Tue, 05 Nov 2013

Volvo has already announced the end of production for its C70 hardtop convertible, a handsome but seriously dated offering that was last refreshed in 2010. Volvo won't be abandoning the two-door coupe-convertible market for long, though, as news out of Australia claims that a replacement, based on the striking Concept Coupe, will join the Chinese-owned, Swedish brand's ranks, although it's unclear precisely when we'll see it on the road.
"Eventually yes... as soon as possible," Hakan Samuelsson, Volvo's CEO, told the Drive, before adding, "when we are ready."
"The Coupe Concept car, we can put that into production and it will have an exposure on the brand. But at the end it's the cream on the cake and at the end you need the cake first before you put the cream on it," said Volvo's Senior Vice President of Product Strategy and Vehicle Line Management, Lex Kerssemakers.
