Interior leather on doors has blemishes/discoloration from the sun. To make it look like new again I replaced both front and rear bumpers, front spoiler with factory Volvo parts as well as the door guards/protectors (Volvo factory parts invoice retained). Tail light cover is slightly cracked but no hole, just a crack (easily replaceable if desired). Tires need replacing. Odometer stopped at 149K miles about 6 years ago. Average distance traveled annually = 15K. The backlight for the clock does not work so at night time it is mostly invisible. Cruise control no longer works but is repairable."

The car runs perfectly. Volvo's are extremely dependable especially the ones going back to the 90's and earlier. I have kept all the records since my father owned the car as a second owner. Both he and I kept it up meticulously and it was only within this year that I decided to freshen up the car and replace some existing parts that were worn by the years (i.e. front and rear bumpers, front spoiler, door panel guards, black rubber cargo lining along the roof border that had been cracked from the natural elements. I had put in about $4,000 to refreshen it with factor Volvo parts (have all the invoices to prove). It is difficult for me to part with the car as it has been in the family but even more so because I just spent around $4,000 to make it look newer again. It still has some physical wear and tear but I didn't plan on putting anymore money into it at this time. Now I decided to lease a newer Volvo and so I can't keep 3 cars going at once. I will not part from it for less than $850.

Watch this Volvo truck drive up a quarry road using hamster-powered steering

Volvo Trucks has been producing some of the most interesting and thrilling commercials around as of late, and this new one involves a live hamster. While you may wonder how could a hamster and a dump truck could be exciting, just know this ain't a Kia Soul commercial: the Swedish truck company enlists the help of a hamster named Charlie to steer an FMX construction truck up a winding road in Ourence, Spain. From the bottom of a quarry. We are not kidding you.

Hot rod tractor stars in Swedish version of Farmkhana

The Nordic countries are known for their beautiful fjords, blonde-haired populace and bitter cold for a good portion of the year. The hours spent indoors during the dark, cold season apparently gives a lot of time for some crazy brainstorming. Tire store chain Vianor is highlighting the Traktor Terror in a new video. If Ken Block is the master of Gymkhana, then these guys know all about Farmkhana in their custom, turbocharged tractor.
According to the YouTube description from Vianor, the tractor is a 1956 Volvo BM Terrier with an added roll cage, adjustable front suspension and extended frame. The engine is thoroughly Swedish, and it's based on a Volvo 940 Turbo with a Volvo 240 head and Volvo 740 intercooler. However, it uses a Saab turbo Prospark ignition and fuel system. All told, the setup is claimed to make 225 horsepower and is capable of a top speed of 60 miles per hour.
That's not crazy power, but this tractor can certainly put it down. The farm machine has no problem smoking those big rear wheels and drifts easily.... although, it may be a tiny little bit unstable (hence the roll cage). If nothing else, this looks like the world's most fun way to be a farmer, that's for sure.

Volvo reveals 400-hp twin-charged PHEV power for new XC90 [UPDATE]

UPDATE: An earlier version of this post indicated that the larger of the conventional diesel engines was a five-cylinder. However all three powertrains announced for the upcoming new XC90 are actually four-cylinder engines. The text has been updated accordingly.
Volvo rolled in to new territory when it introduced the original XC90 back in 2002, creating its first SUV and one of its top-selling models. But that was 12 years ago. In the meantime it's followed up with the smaller XC60, but what the brand faithful and the industry at large have been looking forward to most is the arrival of the new XC90.
Previewed by the Concept XC Coupe at the Detroit Auto Show, the new XC90 is set to arrive later this year, but to keep us on our toes, the Swedish automaker has been steadily trickling out a stream of information and photos. Two months ago it gave us a glimpse inside the cabin, and last month it revealed its new infotainment system, but now Volvo has released details on the upcoming new XC90's powertrain.
