Here Is Another Forest Green 850 Wagon With Brown Leather Interior on 2040-cars
Wilton, Maine, United States
183000 miles indicated - I think that is actual miles. Starts and runs well making plenty of power, the car is sound from and engine and driveline standpoint. Tires are good, pretty new.
Inside, things get a bit dubious. Headliner is staplegunned to the ceiling, having been tweased away by bored children. The sunvisors are drywall screwed into the ceiling. Seats are pretty good except for the drivers one, see photo. After starting, the key needs to be jiggled, to make the vehicle electrics come to life - this is easy and never fails, but bears pointing out. One of the rear doors is slighly bunged up, but doesn't look too bad, see photo. Electric windows and rear view mirrors work. Rear wiper washer probably doesn't. Struts in front, and shocks in rear, replaced in the last year or two. Wheels are cast, but one is mis-matching. Stereo is OK, but speakers are a disaster. AC needs recharged. Buyer is responsible for shipping. I will help within reason. Car is uninsured and has no plates. I reserve the right to end the auction early, as the car is also for sale locally. |

Volvo working to allow groceries delivered to your car, even when you aren't there
Mon, 24 Feb 2014Volvo cites research showing that 60 percent of online shoppers had problems with their deliveries in 2013, and that missed first deliveries cost the industry roughly one billion euros ($1.37B US) in re-delivery costs, as impetus for its "Roam Delivery Service" that delivers packages to your car. The service uses Volvo On Call and Sensus Connect car-connectivity and telematics apps already installed in vehicles, and a digital key with a timed window of operation.
The car owner is notified if delivery to or pickup from the car would be the best option, which they then have the option to approve or decline. If approved, the position of the vehicle is sent to the delivery driver, as well as a digital key that can open the car. Once the delivery has been made, the owner is notified and the digital key is erased, leaving only a time stamp to record when the car was opened and then locked.
The technology will be shown to the public at the Mobile World Congress later this month. There's a video and a press release below with more on the details.
Volvo to finally replace XC90 in 2014
Wed, 16 Jan 2013There's not a whole lot of life left in the current Volvo XC90, but it seems a replacement is on the way. According to What Car?, Volvo will launch its new flagship crossover sometime in 2014, riding on an all new platform that will eventually underpin several models in the company's range.
According to Volvo boss Hakan Samuelsson, this new architecture will eventually underpin the next-generation S60, V70, S80 and XC60, all of which will be getting mid-cycle enhancements over the next year. In speaking to What Car?, Samuelsson said that Volvo would not try to follow the paths set by BMW and Mercedes-Benz, instead focusing on "safety, elegant design and user-friendly functionality" for its next round of new cars.
The new XC90 will remain a seven-passenger vehicle and will be powered by a range of four-cylinder engines. Volvo will soon be dropping the five- and six-cylinder powertrains from its lineup.
2014 Volvo V60 to start at $35,300*
Tue, 31 Dec 2013When Volvo announced US pricing for its updated 2014 model line, it left one vital model out of the equation: that would be the V60, the long-roofed version of the S60 sedan and the long-awaited replacement for the V70 wagon that left our shores nearly four years ago. But if you look at the V60's product page now, you'll see a starting MSRP listed at $35,300. That represents a $2,900 premium over the S60 and an $800 premium over the larger (but older) XC70 softroader.
Delve further into the online configuration tool and you'll see that the price is applied, naturally, to the base turbocharged five-cylinder, front-drive model. Go for the Premier or Platinum trims and the price begins to climb, as it does with the addition of all-wheel drive, the turbo six engine and the R-Design spec. You'll also need to account for the *$915 destination charge. Tick all the boxes and you'll soon be looking at a price tag of over $50,000. Order books open with the start of the new year.
