Up For Sale is a 2001 Volvo XC-70 with 137,775 miles. I will give you a little history of the car. I purchased the XC-70 back in Oct of 2012 for the sum of $2,680.00 from a so called dealer in Pa. named VP Auto Motor's on EBAY, That is for everyone's information. Let's just say they miss led me on the condition of the vehicle, and having paid for a sizable portion of it up front and being that a EBAY sale is in one sense a contract of purchase I stood behind my end and paid the remaining balance of the purchase. Well with that said I have put another $1,200.00 plus dollars in it to get it Md. inspected and road worthy. The vehicle has new brakes, New Battery, New Fog light fixtures, I also had to do some work to the front end / steering something about the struts and link pins to correct the steering. I have all receipts for repairs that were made. Ok, now for the kicker the vehicle still needs some work even though I have driven it over 3000 mile since putting it on the road. The vehicle as when I purchased it has only one key. The vehicle does need some more loving from a mechanic, the airbag light is on and from what I have been told it could be a sensor or a contact that needs to be cleaned under the front seat. I am only selling it shortly after buying it 3 plus months ago because I have purchased another vehicle for my mother to drive being that is what this one was for. Please feel free to ask questions or come and test drive the Volvo as that the purchase of this vehicle Is a as is purchase. I am trying to be as honest as I can about the condition and don't want to screw anyone by listing a false item such as " VP Auto Motor's ". I am willing to deliver / drive the vehicle for free of charge within 25 miles of my place of residents or willing to deliver the vehicle for $2.00 a mile up to Fifty miles from my door to yours. The car is For Sale locally so reserve the rights to cancel this listing early.

Current Volvo XC90 to live on in China?
Fri, 28 Mar 2014The current, long-serving Volvo XC90 might not be going away as soon as we thought - at least not in China. According to word from CarNewsChina, the crossover's production will be moved to Daqing, China, in December and from that point on, be built at Geely's factory. The only available engine will be a 2.5-liter turbocharged five-cylinder.
According to the report, the present XC90 and the imminent next-generation model will both be sold in the market, but the Chinese-made vehicle will be positioned as a cheaper alternative. Geely will also develop a crossover of its own from the platform that should be ready in late 2015.
Volvo plans to launch the new XC90 later this year to replace the aging model, which has been on the market for over a decade. It will ride on the company's new Scaleable Product Architecture platform and will be powered by the automaker's new Drive-E four-cylinder engine family. Hybrid versions will also be available.
Volvo Concept Estate gets official [w/video]
Thu, 27 Feb 2014The final chapter of Volvo's concept car trilogy has arrived after a few teasers earlier this week, as well as some recently leaked images, and as we so astutely summarized previously, it's a brown shooting brake. Really, we couldn't think of a better type of vehicle to follow up the Concept Coupe from the Frankfurt Motor Show, the Concept XC Coupe from the Detroit Auto Show and complete the Swedish trinity of concepts.
It's best to think of the Concept Estate as the hipper, classier cousin to the Concept Coupe. The two are virtually identical below the beltline, featuring front fascias that are indistinguishable from each other (except one is, you know, brown). Both cars wear wide, rectangular grilles inspired by classic Volvo models and T-shaped headlights Where the Concept Estate differs, obviously, is with its more functional rear end and longer roof.
That rear is accented by the Estate's wide haunches and slim, angular taillights, which borrow heavily from the units shown on the Concept XC Coupe. These two features work in tandem to present a wide, squat appearance from the rear. The profile, meanwhile, shows off that spacious greenhouse, which is made even airier by a glass roof.
Volvo finds a way to turn body panels into batteries [w/video]
Thu, 17 Oct 2013One of the problems with designing an electric vehicle is figuring out where to fit the battery pack. Volvo - as a part of a European Union research project - is working on a way around this issue by replacing standard parts with lightweight components that double as batteries on both conventional and plug-in vehicles. The image above shows one such piece on a Volvo S80. While looking like nothing more than a carbon fiber plenum cover, the piece is actually a battery pack that can store and supply enough energy for the car's entire 12-volt power system.
The parts are made by sandwiching super capacitors (which can charge faster than standard batteries) in between layers of carbon fiber. They can then be formed to replace numerous body panels such as the decklid, roof or door panels. Volvo says that the replacing the body panels and batteries with these nano batteries can help reduce the vehicle's weight by as much as 15 percent. It has taken more than three years just to design the batteries, so there's no telling when, or if, we'll ever see this technology used on a production vehicle.
