Brief History:

This vehicle was sold new on Sept. 14th 1964 to E. K. Goff. (Via the original Protect-O-Plate information.) The vehicle always stayed in the Winston-Salem, NC area. At that time, it had been sitting in the second owner's dry basement for at least 18 years prior to the restoration. The Frame-On restoration was done by Express Auto Body Service, LLC in Alpharetta, GA. a little more than three years ago. The current owner purchased the vehicle in May of 2011 and shipped it to Ohio. Currently there are only 5,516 miles since the "Frame On" restoration was completed.

Body & Paint:

The vehicle was disassembled. The body and all panels were stripped to bare metal, properly prepped, primed, blocked sanded several times and then painted. This was a totally rust free vehicle. It still retains all of it's original body panels, floor pans and trunk pans. There were NO metal patches used or replacement panels installed. The paint used was PPG and was a base coat clear coat type of paint. In the 1964, Buick called this color "Diplomat Blue" which is a dark blue color. The doors, fenders, hood and trunk were all carefully re-installed making sure all the panels were correctly aligned and have the proper gaps. Please take a moment to view the photos looking down the sides on the vehicle. It is very straight without any waves, door dings, dents or chips. New rubber weather stripping was also installed after the paint job.

Chrome & Trim:

During the paint restoration, both the front and rear bumpers were show chromed and reinstalled. While the exterior stainless steel trim was removed during painting, it was all prepped and polished. The potmetal trim pieces are in excellent condition without any pitting or pot marks. The chrome rear taillight housings were replaced along with both exterior door handles. There are no dents, dings, or scratches on any of the chrome or stainless steel pieces.

Interior:

The interior is in excellent condition. It is mostly still all original. It has the optional Custom Trim Interior which includes Baronet Cloth upholstery inserts with vinyl bolster bucket seats. The seats, headliner, rear package tray, dash pad and door panels are all original and are in great condition without any rips, splits, tears, cracks, holes, or other problems. New carpeting was installed along with new wood graining trim pieces throughout the interior. All instruments are  operating correctly including the gauges, odometer/speedometer, clock and factory AM-FM radio. Options include the following:  Power Steering, Power Brakes, Tilt Steering Wheel, Electric Windows, Factory Air Conditioning, AM-FM  Radio, Clock, Turn Signals, Emergency Brake, Hi-Lo Beam Headlights, Buick  special insignia floor mats, front and rear, and new door sill plates. Yes, the Air Conditioning is working fine.

Glass:

Factory Soft-Ray Tinted Glass. The windshield looks like it may have been replaced at one time. The rest of the glass pieces are original to the vehicle. There are no cracks, chips, or scratches. The windshield has no wiper marks or stone chips. All of the factory electric power windows operate perfectly and go up and down without any problems.

Wheels & Tires:

All 5 factory wheels were stripped and then powder coated black. New lug nuts also. New 225R70-15 radial whitewall tires were installed less than 400 miles ago. Mounted on these rims are the special optional wire hubcaps that Buick had in 1964. They are correct for the Riviera with the correct "Riviera" emblem in the chrome center spinner. Each wire hubcap was disassembled and each spoke was polished and reassembled. They are in great condition.

Trunk:

Again, this was and is a rust free vehicle. All trunk floor pans are original without any patches or repairs, No rust. The correct trunk liner material was found and installed including the floor mat material. Under the matching spare tire cover is new radial tire that matches the four tires that are on the car. The factory jack and jacking tools are also installed inside the trunk.

Frame & Undercarriage:

Frame and floor pans are all original and untouched. The undercarriage is clean and detailed. Undercarriage is painted semi-gloss. There is no undercoating sprayed on the floor panels/frame that is hiding problems or past repairs.
Nine times out of ten, people selling a car would not talk about or take any photos of the underside. The undercarriage tells you a lot about the car, that is why there are a few pictures of the bottom in the photo gallery. Please view them all.

Engine Compartment:

Fully detailed engine compartment with the factory stock appearance. Show ready. The original "Wildcat 465" 425 cu.in. single four barrel power plant still sits under the hood.  It has the original air cleaner, A/C Compressor and correct glass Opticlean washer bottle. Some of the new items are:  3 core heavy duty radiator, upper and lower radiator hoses, AC spark plugs, plug wires, new belts, along with new heater hoses.

Mechanical:

Engine / Transmission / Rear End:
Still all original matching numbers from the factory. This 425 cu. in. V8, 340 hp. engine does not burn oil, smoke, or has any noticeable leaks. Not sure if or when this engine was rebuilt, but I do know it starts, runs and sounds great. No known problems. The original Turbo-400 automatic transmission was completely rebuilt in 2012. It shifts out smoothly. The rear end is 3.23:1 non-posi that is also working fine without any sounds or other problems.
   Brakes:
The brake shoes show about 50% remaining thickness. There are no leaks or other problems with brake system. The brakes do not squeal, fade, pull or pulsate. The parking brake has been adjusted and is working correctly.
Suspension:
The front end was been rebuilt with new upper and lower ball joints. New bushings in the stabilizer arm as well. The front end was then aligned. Get this vehicle on the freeway at 70 MPH and you can let go of the steering wheel. It will stay right there without any wandering or pulling. The wheel is rock solid without any  shaking or vibrations. No looseness or rattles. Better then some of these newer cars.
Exhaust:
A new aluminized dual exhaust system from the stock engine manifolds back was installed approximately 3 years ago. It is in like new condition.

Awards & Shows:

Over the past three years, it was won 22 show awards, including two “Best of Show” awards.
This car is only driven to cruise-ins and shows – 1500 to 1700 miles a year only in the summertime.

Manuals & Paper Work:

The vehicle comes with the original Owner's Manual, the original Protection Plan booklet with the Protect-O-Plate on the back cover, and also the original Window Sticker. A Buick Chassis Service Manual and a Riviera Body Service Manual will also go along with the sale.

We also have a "Risk Free" 7 day inspection period AFTER the auction for the winner bidder.
(See below for details.)

The inspection can be done by the buyer personally or a third party inspector that the buyer hires.
4) Full payment is due within 7 days of auction closing. You are not purchasing a new car that is claimed to be flawless. Instead, you are purchasing a vehicle that is old and expected to have normal wear and tear from age. The vehicle is sold "as is" where is without any warranty implied or expressed. All sales are final once inspected or paid in full.
5) If the vehicle was found to be materially misrepresented at the inspection, your deposit  is refundable and you are not liable for the purchase but this must be determined within the  allotted seven (7) day inspection period. Failing to mention for example an  item such as a small paint imperfection, a minor non-safety related item such as a switch  etc, does not constitute refusal of the vehicle by the buyer. We require you to put in  writing via email or fax the material misrepresentations in order to receive a refund of  your deposit. Taking a few photos of the misrepresented area for us to see, will help point  out and confirm your concerns. "Changed my Mind" is not a valid excuse for your deposit to be refunded.

7) PLEASE DO NOT bid unless you have full intentions of purchasing at your bid price. Your bid is a legally binding contract as eBay clearly states. We reserve the right to end the auction early.
