Details

I cant say enough good things about this bus. It really goes like a dream. Im listing it with much of original documentation from 1969 into the 70's. There is a lapse then continuing from the late 90's with lots of replaced and installed upgrades. The engine was rebuilt & documented. It runs beautifully and starts on a dime, every time. It does well at all speeds but loves the open road. Idling is on point and valve adjusmtents / oil changes have taken place on time. The transmission was also rebuilt and shifts well.

The Bus has a raised 3-Piece Tempurpedic bench/love seat that can be used traditionally from the front, or as a relaxed backrest while looking out through the rear. The seat then folds outward into a Tempupedic bed with attaching brace able to accomidate persons up to 6'5"(196cm) tall . Underneath the seat is spacious storage room that will hold a weekend or more worth of camp supplies. The attatching table mounts to the floor when the bench/love seat is in place and is big enough to accomidate 4 persons. The equipment can be placed in the storage compartment when not in use. Its a great simplistic system that works well and is pleasing to the eye. We tried to re-design this bus with traditional features in mind, only giving them a modern touch in order to increase user space.

Some of the Uprgraded Mechanical Items:

-Rebuilt Engine

-Rebuilt Transmission

-Hoses & filters

-Seals throughout including the rear main seal

-Muffler

-Flywheel seal & alternator

-Clutch & cable

-Valves and valve cover gaskets

-Belts

-Rebulit Carberator

-and more.

The Body of the bus is in great condition. See the pictures for more. Inside, the walls are immaculate, including underneath the bamboo. The metal floors were in fair condition and have been lined with rubber protectant from the bottom. From the inside the floor is covered by bamboo leaving is clean. The ceiling has been restored in all white in attempt to increase visual space and enhance lighting.

There is still some work that could/needs to be done on this bus over time. The back door and main 2 front doors are in great condition. The sliding door works well but it requires a jiggle now and then as most buses do. All 3 tracks that it runs on hold the door sturdy and are in good condition. The headlights, rearlights and front overhead light work the front right turn signal and rear ceiling light don't. These may just need a new bulb. The radio turns on and has no installed speakers. The vents to allow air to flow into the van are in good working order. The driver's seat is in good condition while the original bus passenger seat, which is in great condition, needs mounting brackets underneath. The gas gauge and oil temperature gauges work well while the speedometer, odemeter and horn do not. Little things. Overall, this bus is great and ready to be a daily driver or show room beauty. It gets looks and wows wherever it goes. The vital under-side of the bus with all of its mechanisms are in good working condition and have been recently inspected and approved by VW professionals. The front right wheel cylinder could be replaced in the near future. It squeaks at first use and becomes lubricated quickly. The tires were replaced and have lots of tread on them. A team worked on this van. We are not experts but we hope your as happy as we are about it. EXAMINE PICTURES AND FEEL FREE TO ASK QUESTIONS.

Noted

This bus is nice and clean but please note I am not an expert, Im here describing the vehicle to the best of my ability. This bus has been looked over by VW experts that have found it to be in good shape. The mileage on the speedometer is not accurate but there is less than 30,000 miles on the rebuilt engine. Examine pictures ask questions and bid with confidence. I  have been an eBay seller and buyer for 11 years with 100% positive feedback.
