Sale: is a 1978 blue on blue Honda Accord LX, 2 door hatch back which was my
very first car. I bought this car used from a lady in 1985 and it was my work
car as a Marine Surveyor until 1990, to attend ships in port at various
terminals in Texas and Louisiana at all hours of the day and night. As a Marine
Surveyor I needed a very reliable "used" car with good gas mileage
and economical to run and maintain. We drive a lot and a new car would have
rapidly depreciated. In 1991, I changed jobs and she was not driven much until
1994. Then used again for Marine surveying from 1995 through 1998. Fyi: In 1990
I bought an Acura Legend from respect earned by the extreme reliability and
ease of maintenance of this '78 Honda. In 1997 I did an engine out full restoration
(see pics). At that time I changed the motor to a 1.8 liter which was fully
overhauled before installation (all receipts included). Included with this sale
is a full folder of all receipts and all service records, a ton of spare parts
like alternators, a/c compressor, starters, head lights, spare driver side
seat, etc. as I used to be a Junkyard rat in my younger years and collected
various spare parts in case I needed it in the future. Full sized spare tire
and wheel and extra tires are included. Car cover also included. Roof luggage rack included. Need garage space now and must sell this
excellently engineered Honda to a good home. She was my first car ever and hence I have held on so long.
Over the years in storage I have driven car around the block from time to time
to keep moving parts in good order. The last time was Oct'13 after changing
the clutch master and slave cylinders and engine oil and filter and new battery
from Auto zone (Duralast). The carburetor is a new rebuilt unit purchased in
1998 from Autozone and comes with the receipt.
I will test run engine in your presence and function test all electrical items.
However the car is being sold "AS IS" as a used car with no warranty
expressed or implied. It is the Buyer's responsibility to move the car from my
garage after payment is made and all spare parts and receipts and records,
owner's handbook, technical shop manual etc is transferred to Buyer. This is a
1978 model Honda Accord which makes it a Classic with manual rack & pinion
steering and manual 5 speed transmission and is very comfortable and fun to
drive. Most importantly she is very economical on gas mileage and cheap on
maintenance. New parts are still available from Honda by special order as well as from Auto zone
and HiLo. Will accept payment by Cashier's check or Money Order or Cash. Will
consider serious offers only and request no low balling to waste my time and
