The first-generation Ford Mustang was manufactured by the Ford Motor Company from 1964 until 1973. The introduction of the Mustang created a new class of automobile known as the pony car. The Mustang’s styling, with its long hood and short deck, proved wildly popular and inspired a host of imitators.

It was initially introduced as a hardtop and convertible with the fastback version put on sale the following year. At the time of its introduction, the Mustang, sharing its underpinnings with the Falcon, was slotted into a compact car segment.

MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to offer the classic 1964 1/2 Mustang Convertible you see pictured. This particular 1964 1/2 Mustang Convertible has benefitted from an older restoration and overall shows well today. It has been refinished in the original shade of Whimbledon White. The paint is in good condition but does show some imperfections; the driver’s side front fender is showing some crazing, there are a few rock chips on the hood, a paint knick on the passenger door and minor chips on the deck lid. Both front and rear chrome bumpers are in good overall condition with no damage or major pitting to speak of. The deck lid has a chrome trunk rack upon it that is in great shape. The white canvas convertible top is in great shape and shows no signs of wear or staining.

This Mustang is in fact a 1964 1/2 . It has the vents near the battery, low sitting horns (however, the horns are not intact, the brackets are still there) and 64 stamped tail lights. The generator however has been swapped to an alternator for reliability purposes.

The interior has been refinished in white vinyl and looks very good. The seats show no rips or tears. The red carpet and color matched dash with a red pad upon it are both in great shape with no major imperfections. The matching white vinyl door panels are equally as nice. All of the original style gauges are still in the dashboard and look great. The Mustang is also equipped with an AM/FM/Cassette player. The interior as a whole is incredibly beautiful and is sure to turn heads!

Under the hood you will find a 289 cubic inch 4-valve V8. The engine was built by Mark at Mid America Mustangs and has approximately 5,000 miles on it since being built. The engine is nicely detailed and sits in a tidy engine bay. Mated to the 289 is an automatic transmission with a floor shifter.

The Mustang sits upon a set of 14” chrome wire wheels that are wrapped in P205/75R14 tires. Mileage currently shows 84,215 and the VIN number is 5F08D215853. The car is being sold on a clean Missouri title. GET OUT AND DRIVE!!!
