The Volkswagen Beetle, officially called the Volkswagen Type 1 (or informally the Volkswagen Bug), is an economy car produced by the German auto maker Volkswagen from 1938 until 2003. With over 21 million manufactured in an air-cooled, rear-engine, rear-wheel drive configuration, the Beetle is the longest-running and most-manufactured car of a single design platform, worldwide. In 1973, the VW Type 1 introduced a curved windscreen, pushed forward and away from the passengers, allowing a redesigned, padded dashboard to replace the pre-1973 vertical dash. A two-speed heater fan, higher rear mudguards, and larger tail lights were added. The changes to the heater/windshield wiper housing and curved windshield resulted in slight redesign of the front hood.

MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to present this beautiful blue 1973 Volkswagen Beetle you see pictured. The car you see here has benefitted from a restoration and looks fantastic. This is a lovely example of the classic Volkswagen Beetle everyone knows and loves.

Finished in blue, the paint has recently been professionally repainted and looks excellent with almost no chips or wear. The paint is a custom clear coated deep metallic blue paint with rainbow pearl flake and the overall paint job is top quality with no expense spared. The paint was finished off with hand painted pin striping with "musical" accents that really make this bug stand out. All weatherstripping and trim are in good condition as well as both running boards. The body is solid and straight as a hardy Beetle should be. The front and rear T-bar bumperettes are in excellent shape and the chrome shows well. The Beetle sits upon a set of 15” American Spirit minilite style wheels with Coker 165R15 whitewall tires.

Inside you will find the interior has been recently reupholstered in white supple vinyl and black piping that looks fantastic and compliments the blue exterior. The seats are in excellent shape, showing no signs of wear or imperfections. The door panels match the seats and are also in fantastic condition. The white headliner is new and is in great shape. Gauges are all in good working order with the exception of the horn. The lights, blinkers and wipers are in working order. The dash panel over the gauge cluster has some minor cracks and splitting. To make those afternoon drives more enjoyable, a Pioneer MP3/CD DEH-1900MP stereo has been installed with Powerbass 3-way speakers in both the front door panels and rear deck.

Under the rear deck, you’ll find the correct dual port 1600cc 46HP with engine number AK035225. Attached to the engine is a 4 speed manual transmission. The overall engine bay is nicely detailed and presents itself well.

This is an awesome Beetle and it is a definitely a car you must see to believe. The VIN is 1332331682 and the mileage currently shows 27,089. The car is being sold on a clean & clear title. GET OUT AND DRIVE!!!

Driving Impressions:

"This little 1973 Volkswagen Beetle is a sweet little car, the paint is outstanding and the deep metallic rainbow flake reminds me of custom blowing ball from the 70's! Someone really spent their time painting the Beetle correctly and adding the final touch of hand painted pin striping really shows the stellar quality of this paint job.

Driving the beetle to the location for photographs, this was a fun little car to go through the gears and puts an instant smile to your face along with all the onlookers you pass by. The white interior projects a very happy atmosphere as it should for a classic bug and in its current condition will give someone years of enjoyment!"
