Hello, I have recently traded for this 1989 Volkswagen Capriolet 5MT with 181k miles. What a cool car. It has a metallic blue paint exterior with a black top and grey cloth interior seats. For its age, this is a good little car. It starts right up every time and shifts in and out off all gears no problem. The shift linkage could use some adjusting. I have put over 400+ miles on the car including 70 mile round trip on the interstate. After driving for a good amount of time, there is no unwanted smell coming from this VW.

I know there are a lot a people who know every little thing there is to know about these cars. I don't know everything. It looks like a respray of the whole car (minus the engine and trunk bays). Being in the car business for some time, I've seen a lot of bad resprays. This doesn't appear to be that way. A quality job was done with this Cabrio. The soft top doesn't leak (didn't when I've washed the car with high pressure hose) and doesn't have a bad odor to it. All four tires have plenty of tread remaining. No dash lights are on. All the gages seem to work. There is not any rust on the body of this VW - not a rusty car. The top goes up and down and locks in like it should. All windows work. The radio works. And and headlights and horn work.

I'm offering this Cabriolet at a NO RESERVE auction. I've tried my best to accurately describe and photo this VW. Please note: This is a nearly 25 year old car! Its not perfect! If you're into these VW and know your way around them, this would be a great pick up. Make this a reliable daily driver with a little TLC. Or leave it be and still have an inexpensive daily or project. It is being sold AS-IS with NO STATE INSPECTION (if you're a Missouri resident is will be sold with AS-IS Affidavit).
