I rarely have the opportunity to sell a car more than once, sadly it's usually because of an owner passing away. The woman and her late husband bought this car in 07 with just over 71K miles and it now has just over 76K miles on it. They enjoyed the car, were active members of the T-Bird club and participated in many of the annual shows and runs. The car is believed to have only 4 owners and I was told by the last owner the miles were original, I don't see any indication to the contrary. That being said it is a very desirable 312 V8 in combination with the continental kit and both tops, it was equipped with air conditioning but he removed it because he felt it made the car run too hot in the summer. He sold it to a fellow club member, sorry.

The engine is the original and has been pretty well maintained, the carburetor was rebuilt just before they got it in 07, it started fairly easily even though it has been sitting for over a year in the garage. I did drive it down the street and back, both the engine and transmission were still in good operating condition with a little rough idling I would attribute to old fuel. The brakes felt good, no pulling or longer than normal stops. I did see a few new parts in the engine compartment and he did have the radiator rebuilt. The previous owner had replaced all the suspension bushings, ball joints and added both front and rear sway bars. You can see the fresh alignment shims so it was recently aligned. The exhaust was also replaced in 07, complete dual exhaust all the way but not through the bumper to keep them clean. The Kelsey Hayes wheels were new in 07 along with the Coker tires, the tires would still be good for local driving but wouldn't take them on the freeway after 6 years.

The interior is stock with the exception of the Thunderbird cassette deck. The upholstery is in good condition, the headliner in the hardtop is good and driver side of the carpet shows some wear as well as fading. The gauges were all working including the tachometer, I did note the speedometer is making noise so will need to be lubricated along with the cable. I seem to recall the seat upholstery was replaced in 07 and that would explain the condition now. The cover behind the seat is present and nice. The convertible top is present, I did put it up for the pictures but it will need to have new material applied along with seals. I know it needed to be recovered when they bought it but decided not to address it. It doesn't look like it fits right but that is because the material has tightened up. The good thing is the top is there because I had to find one for a customer once and a bare one was $3,500. There are a couple of the fasteners missing for the convt. top also but are available both reproduction and used.

The car was painted before the previous owner and unsure when, it has a few additional chips since I saw it last, it could use a good detail but looks like it will shine pretty good after that. I know the car has no rust issues, there weren't any in 07 and nothing looks any different underneath now. I also can't see any signs the car was ever involved in any accidents. I did notice the door on the passenger needs to have the striker plate adjusted because it closes too far in, I would've done it but didn't have the proper tools with me when I took the pictures. By the condition of the chassis it's believed to have always been a CA car but but that's going strictly by the condition of the chassis. The hardtop has a little cracking in the paint on top, I'm not sure if something was set on it or why it is happening. It looks presentable from 5 feet away but can be seen upon closer inspection. The side trim has some of the typical pot metal blistering, the others have some peppering marks and the bumpers don't shine like new anymore but the car is a very original car. The grill and surround trim looks to be in very good condition and wears a vintage T-Bird Club International badge. The tail light assemblies were replaced in 07, the previous owner installed them right before he sold it. The skirts are included along with the original steel wheels and hubcaps.

This is a nice driver, not a restored car. I think a good detail, some fresh fluids and it will be a car to enjoy for the summers to come. If your goal is to have something nicer and this would be a good start that won't need extensive work to achieve. I try hard to be accurate in my description about everything so you know what your bidding on. Most of the time I hear the car was better than described and that's fine with me, it's better than the opposite. Just read my feedback from buyers. Ask questions if there something I didn't cover. I tried to show the overall detail in the auction pictures and have an additional 25 pictures focusing on detail close ups so send me your email address if you want to see those. The car is about 45 min. from my shop, I can get additional pics for a serious buyer if I don't already have them.

There is no Buy-It-Now. The reserve is set at what my research has determined to be a fair current market value, please don't ask what the reserve is as it's not fair to the other bidders in the auction. If you want to bypass the auction process please make an offer I can submit to the owner for approval. I your offer is acceptable a Buy-It-Now will be added, many of the auctions I do are completed that way. I will tell you the reserve is less than what they paid in 07.

There is no interest in any trades, she wants to travel and classic cars aren't as enjoyable without her husband. I welcome inspections, the car can be viewed by appointment. The winning bidder will receive clear title California title for the car. I can assist with arranging shipping to your location or make recommendations for shipping, of course it can be picked up in person after we have received funds. The car is located in Hanford, CA, just 45 min SW of Fresno.

Terms and Conditions Of The Auction

The winning bidder agrees to provide a $500 deposit within 24 hours of the close of the auction, the balance is due within 7 days. The balance is to be paid through a bank transfer. Please don't bid if your funds are not readily available, if you are applying for a loan please give the bank ample time for an inspection.

The auction is to purchase a car, the winning bidder is entering a contract to purchase this car and not to look it over after the purchase, please arrange any inspections before auction end. Ask all questions necessary to make a decision before auction end.
