 Description

Up for auction is a survivor 1960 Chevrolet Impala Convertible with the original 283 engine and 2-Speed powerglide.  This car has been owned by the same gentleman for the last 35 years before I purchased it and it has 79K Actual miles stated on the title.  This car retains some of its original Tuxedo Black and still has the original interior/top.  The car is a 10 footer, meaning it looks perfect from ten feet.  It's a driver quality car that needs some attention to make it a show car.  It was originally equipped with power windows, power steering, power brakes, and a power top.  Everything still works like it should and the top has all brand new hydraulic lines.  All the windows go up and down properly and still have the original glass.

The interior is in nice original condition with good original upholstery.  The carpeting is very nice and was recently pulled out and professionally cleaned.  The dash pad has a crack which I have photographed.  The gauges are all functional.  The horn does not work from the original rim on the steering wheel however there is a horn and a whistle operated by the two black buttons to the left of the steering wheel which are functional .  The door panels are original and worn as you can see.  The top has a few areas which are discolored but overall it's still white and no major rips to speak of.  The convertible top pads on the inside are worn and need to be replaced.

I am being as honest as I possibly can be, the body isn't as nice in person as it is in photographs.  There are several spots that are bubbling, paint checked, and cracked which I tried to photograph (very hard to photograph) It has had some rust repair/repairs made over it's lifespan; some which are showing through and are clearly visible in person.  I would anticipate that just about every body panel has one of the following if not more: a paint crack, lacquer paint checking or bubbling (mostly lower quarter and top of fenders).  The doors shut nice and the bottoms of the doors are clean and original.  The rocker panels have had some repairs done which you can see.  The floor pans WILL NEED WORK they are rusted through in a few areas.  I have brand new rear floor pans included with the sale that are meant for this car.  The fronts aren't as bad as the rear but they will also need work.  Inner rockers are also areas that need to be addressed. On the positive side the rear of the car is solid including the trunk, inner quarters and also the frame.

This car runs and drives really nice and can easily be used as a cruiser and can be purchased to immediately enjoy.    I have been fair and accurate about my description, it is not a show car and will need some work to bring it to that level.  Luckily everything is still present and the parts it needs are available.  As you can see the trunk is full of original parts including two original generators, two hubcaps, the original bumper jack, a good spare, and some other misc. parts.
