-One owner Jeep Comanche 4X4 Pickup-

Fuel injected 2.5 liter 4cyl with 5 speed manual

Very rare, rock-solid and original truck

I have always had a soft-spot for these Comanche Pickup's. Actually, my dad bought one new in 1987 so my appreciation goes back almost 30 years. My older brother took it to South Carolina during his College years and I never saw it again. Over the years I've owned a few of them. So, when I saw this one advertised locally a few months ago still in the hands of it's original owner I had to have it. He received overwhelming response to his advertisement from all across the U.S. He responded to me first and a deal was made. It's a great truck. It was purchased new right here in Portland Oregon. I still have the original Oregon title showing 16 miles on the odometer when he bought it new and received it from the bank exactly 60 months and 60 payments later. I didn't dare transfer that day-one title. It is pictured near the end of my photo display. I've had fun driving it a half dozen times but it primarily just sits with the high-end members of my collection looking somewhat out of place. Don't get me wrong, she's a cutie and every time I open the big door to show people my collection, they walk right over to the Jeep. You just don't see em anymore. And again, it is really cute. Rock-solid and rust-free. Even the undercarriage has no corrosion. The factory paint shows it's age due to the paint quality of the 1980's. It is faded, which is typical of vehicles from the era but mostly just on the top surfaces. I like the "patina" and age related character marks just like they are. Due to the interior being so gorgeous and the drive-train being so tight and sound, I struggled with having her painted but couldn't bring myself to do it. Again, I like her the way she is! However, having the truck repainted would be inexpensive based on how straight and solid it is. I'll leave that decision up to the next owner. The pictures will finish the story but for those of you that enjoy my one-finger typing skills, I will continue making a few comments under some of the upcoming photos.

I will make a few brief comments under certain pictures throughout the photo display. All of my eBay experiences have been enjoyable over the years as I've sold members of my collection. I'm grateful for the kind words and compliments I've received. My opinions have guided me well and I stand behind them but please keep in mind that these are my personal opinions and observations and they may differ from your own. I welcome showing my Jeep in person to anyone with genuine interest. I live very near the Portland Oregon Airport and would gladly pick you up. Each photo shows the Comanche clearly and accurately from as many angles as I could think of. It is my intention to make this as close to you seeing and touching the Jeep for yourself as possible. Feel free to click on the "ask a question" link here in the auction and I will respond to all polite questions. Phone calls are great too. My telephone number is 503-575-0404 and calls between 8AM and 9PM Pacific time are just fine. My auction runs for 5 days and is scheduled to end on Tuesday evening, the 29th of April at 7:30PM Pacific.

I reserve the right to end my auction early in the event I accept a genuine offer and the Jeep becomes no longer available.

*If you are outside of the U.S. or Canada, PLEASE contact me to confirm your bidding activity as genuine.*

Everyone, please be sure to read my terms of sale located near the bottom of this screen. I'm a reasonable person but I will not bend on these basic terms unless previously discussed during the auction. A little communication goes a long way.

NO RESERVE AUCTION

I did not set a reserve price on my Comanche. All that I ask in return is for your bids to be real and your intent to purchase be sincere. I took every picture you're about to see in my driveway at home the day before this auction started. No photo has been altered or enhanced in any way. This is my truck and these pictures are true to her in-person appearance. Thanks for your time, DAVE

As I mentioned in my main description, the body is very straight and rust-free. The original paint is faded primarily on the flat surfaces. There are minor imperfections from normal use but overall her appearance is very good. Both bumpers are excellent and all of the glass is crystal clear. I'm the one that took every picture within this layout and obviously I've seen and touched the truck for myself. Each photo shows her accurately. She deserves the compliments she always gets.

The interior speaks for itself. It is extremely nice. Seat, carpet, door panels, headliner and the entire dashboard are all in beautiful shape. I doubt anyone will find a nicer interior. One look inside as you open the door is all it takes.       She has been mechanically maintained. The 2.5 liter fuel injected 4 cylinder performs exactly like it should. Always starts right up. No ticks, misses, hesitations or abnormal noises of any kind. She's never going to lead the pack on race day but I've driven on the freeway several times and she keeps up with the flow just fine. The factory power steering is a big plus. Some did not have that option. The 5 speed manual transmission shifts flawlessly. The 4-wheel-drive engages smoothly even into low range. The clutch and tires are near new. The steering, brakes and suspension seem tight and sound but I haven't needed to touch them. She feels good on the road. No vibrations or pulls and I haven't even noticed any rattles. My experiences and current impression is that she is very reliable and fun to drive.

On the freeway with one finger on the steering wheel.

All lights including back-up's and license plate light function properly.

The fog lamps and brush guard were added years ago.

PLEASE NOTE: It started to lightly rain in the middle of my photo-shoot. The tiny sprinkles don't effect any of the pictures but I wanted to mention it. That's the Pacific Northwest for ya. I've been here all 46 years of my life. Yes, it rains here 9 months a year but it is gorgeous when it doesn't.

There are a couple of small dings on the top side of the bed but very minor.

She is the long bed version.

The toolbox is new. I just installed it.

The cargo area is in good shape. Light household and yard use only.

The tailgate opens and closes easily.

Even the lower areas, rocker panels, etc, are absolutely rust-free. Not a blister or pimple of corrosion. 100% solid. This really is a great truck.

I took every picture here at home. If you look at my dining room window you can see me in the reflection. Hello

            Tires are almost new.

Current and accurate mileage since 1986 is 137,906

Everything works. All lights, gauges, heater, wipers and stereo are functioning properly. The horn was working but when I took these photos is wasn't. I will attempt to rectify that only non-op item. Delay wipers and tilt steering are options she has.

I only looked away from the road for a second to snap this pic.

As stated previously, even the undersides are outstanding. No rust or corrosion of any kind. NEVER exposed to a salted road.

I have noticed some typical fluid drips on my garage floor. Nothing drastic or anything that requires immediate attention but wanted to mention it in the interest of full-disclosure. I would jump in it tomorrow and go where I needed to go without any concern.

ZERO rust issues anywhere on the truck, including the undersides!

Factory owners manual and genuine Oregon Certificate of Title. Easily transferable to any State in the U.S. and exactly what customs agents and the border patrol folks hope to see for smooth import/export.

These little Comanche Pickup's are becoming extinct. A one owner example is nearly impossible to find. A rare find indeed. Deserves to be someones pride and joy. Thanks again-

Terms of Sale: 28yr old vehicle being sold AS-IS:

Please read and agree with the following:

I have described my Jeep honestly and to the best of my ability based on over 25 years of owning and driving classic vehicles. This is one of the best original examples you will find. I have 100% faith in the drivability of my Comanche and everything is in good working order per my written description provided above. I enjoy driving her without concern and would not hesitate taking a cross-country trip today but she is almost 30 years old so routine service and repairs should be expected based on her age. If you are not comfortable with a sight-unseen purchase, please come see the truck for yourself or have an independent inspection performed PRIOR to bidding, NOT after. I will not be responsible for the decisions of others. Free and clear Oregon Certificate Of Title along with a bill-of-sale will be provided. I would appreciate the winning bidder contacting me immediately upon end of auction just so the lines of communication are opened. My telephone number is 503-575-0404

PAYMENT TERMS

A $1000.00 deposit is due within 24 hours of auction ending preferably through PayPal just so we are both protected. Wire transfers and verifiable cashier checks are also acceptable. I'm an easy going person so if you need to make special financial arrangements please contact me BEFORE you bid and I'll try to help. I have been with the same bank here in Portland Oregon for over 10 years and the Management staff knows me. You are welcome to contact them for your own security if you like. *The remaining balance in-full is due within 7 calendar days of auction end in the form of secure funds.* Some banks and credit unions do not finance vehicles of this vintage. Make sure if you are financing that your financial institution accepts the year and value of this vehicle before bidding and that my payment time-lines can be met. Please have your method of payment arranged prior to auction ending.

TRANSPORT - SHIPPING

I am happy to be an active and hands-on part of this entire process from start to finish but the buyer is ultimately responsible for pickup or shipping of this vehicle and any pre-purchase inspections need to be done BEFORE auction ending. If you wish to have it shipped using a service, I will gladly assist in loading and be present for the transport condition form and other reasonable help. Locating a transporter is the buyers responsibility but I can make recommendations and share the relationships I've built. Vehicle transport has become very reasonable. I personally use a privately dispatched trucking company. They have handled my transport needs perfectly for the last several years with careful handling, excellent rates and fast service even all the way to the East Coast. I will provide contact info at your request. Dependable Auto Shippers (D.A.S.) is a transporter that eBay recommends and my experiences with them before I started using only private carriers were just fine. My location zip code is 97214. Coast-to-Coast transport is around $1200.00 and even less the closer you are to Oregon. Again, I will gladly be your hands, eyes and ears during the transporting process. Shipping to Australia, Europe and other Countries has also become affordable and easy to arrange.

*If you are outside of the United States or Canada, you MUST contact me to confirm your bidding activity as authentic. If you are an eBay member with negative history or have a (0) or even a low transaction score, I need to hear from you just to verify your sincerity and accept your bids as genuine. We all started from (0) and I'm happy to give a leg up. I reserve the right to cancel bids at any point for these reasons. Email or phone contact is welcome. Communication is all I ask.

I reserve the right to end the auction at any time if the vehicle is no longer available or otherwise SOLD.
