Please note that experience shows us that the photobucket of over 100 large pixel pictures posted here are in most cases best viewed and downloaded using the very latest and most updated version of the 'Firefox' browser as some other browsers and especially older browser versions are not capable of accommodating the size of the download. Over the years our clients have overwhelmingly been appreciative of our many unaltered large pixel photos posted in our ads and our feedback has been that it is very rare that a dealer will post all but the most flattering of professionally finished photographs. We prefer to post the many photos taken of the car, in sometimes unflattering but natural sunlight, in order for our prospective buyers to be able to see true and reliable images of the car advertised and that is the reason for some seemingly duplicated shots. We trust you will agree.

West Coast Classics are proud to present an absolutely exceptional and beautiful example of this very rare and All American classic muscle car - a 1969 Pontiac Firebird 400/330HP 4 BBL V8 Convertible with a 'YT' code date correct 400/330HP 4 bbl V8 engine matched correctly to a Turbo Hydra-Matic 400  three speed automatic transmission, independent front suspension with coil springs, live rear axle with semi-elliptic leaf springs, dual exhausts with added and rare factory options including;

The Firebird was Pontiac's slightly more upmarket version of the Chevrolet Camaro and the models were given a restyling in 1969 for their third season in the marketplace. A new RPO (regular production option) was quietly slipped into the lineup during midyear, the Trans Am, a new high performance option roughly equivalent to the GTO in the LeMans lineup. Power came from a 400 4 BBL V8 with 330HP and in the Ram Air III with 335HP 430 lbs torque at 3400 rpm (634 cars, coupes & convertibles) or Ram Air IV with 345HP 430 lbs torque at 3700 rpm (55 cars, all coupes) versions. Either way well over 350HP was available in a car that weighed just over 3,000 pounds! That provided for some literally amazing performance in a pony car and these models were extremely limited in production. Only some 6,921 Firebirds were built mated to an automatic transmission with this 400 'YT' engine with 330HP, including this particular example, and it is a known fact that horsepower ratings were kept well understated in the late sixties to help keep rising insurance rates low.

This particular example was sold in 2013 at a Mecum auction having recently come out of the renown 'Jerry Minor' collection in Minnesota and had obviously, as advertised and documented, recently come off a frame off restoration of an originally 'Midnight Green' over 'Gold' black plate California car with no signs of of any major accidents or rust and which has been strikingly restored in this most desirable 'Triple Black' color combination! This car must be seen to be fully appreciated. The date correct 'YT' code 400/330HP 4 Barrel V8 engine is extremely strong and responsive with excellent oil pressure and no noticeable oil leaks and which sounds absolutely magnificent and throaty from its dual exhausts, the transmission shifts smoothly through the gears and the engine temperature always remains cool and the car has a spare wheel and jack in the trunk.

The car will be sold with its rare original factory dealers protection plan and manuals showing it was sold new at 'Haley Pontiac' of Richmond, VA on 12/5/1968 and soon registered by its original owner in Solana Beach, California in 4/1970 with the original California registration card and selling dealers paperwork, protection plan and owners manual still available. The car will also be sold its PHS (Pontiac Historical Society) documentation for the car showing its original factory options and a thick file and wealth of original service documentation from its previous owners including pictures of the restoration.

Purchased at the renown 'Mecum Classic Car Auction' in Orange County, California in 11/2013 by its most recent owner/collector for over $52K, this must be one of the finest daily driving survivors of this very collectible and most desirable 1969 year of the legendary big block 400 V8 Pontiac Firebird!

This is also a very rare date correct 400 V8 with 330HP and has all the right options, a wonderful example of all American sixties muscle and a wonderful addition to any muscle car enthusiasts collection!
