Great ambiance and local foods on an interesting menu

Our party of 10 ate there back in March of 2010 for a birthday celebration. Fascinating place - saw them blowing glass downstairs, then strolled through the gift shop. Got a table on the upper level with a great view of the Brandywine River. The menu features foods from local farms and they have a great wine selection. Wonderful Restaurant

Had a wonderful experience here last night. It was very enjoyable to watch the glassblowers making stemware for the restaurant before we dined. Food was delicious, great wine selection and our server was very knowledgeable and friendly. Had a great table by the window with a beautiful view of the Brandywine. Would highly recommend to anyone on a date night.

Let Down

We`ve been to Simon Pearce several times. Our lunch this time was a real disappointment from the start. The staff met us at the door with "sour faces" and less than enthusiastic personality. It wasn`t just the Host...it trickled down to the servers as well. Then their recommended salad of figs and endive was small, extremely lightly dressed (almost none) and expensive. Some of us had a "Picnic" entree that included the soup, 1/2 pork sandwich which was OK, a special soda that was actually good, and one cookie for dessert. The bread served with lunch was the best part of the meal. Fortunately, we got to watch the glass blowers at their best.
