1972 Alfa Romeo Montreal Base Coupe 2-door 2.6l on 2040-cars

Year:1972 Mileage:72578
Location:

Forest Hill, Maryland, United States

We are offering this car for one of our customers. Titled as a 1972, this car might have been built in 1971. One of only
3917 cars made, this is a unique opportunity to own a very rare Alfa Romeo. Currently showing 72,578 kms.,This car was titled here in
Maryland back in 1989 with only 63,045 kms. We found it sitting in a barn. It appears to have had some body work done just prior
to being put away. There is evidence of rust repair in various and typical places. The repairs were made well with full welding and
sealer applied for protection.  However, there was no extreme effort to make these repairs invisible. The outside bodywork looks sound
and the car could be put into paint with relative ease. The trim looks good. There might be a few pieces missing or damaged, as there was
only marginal care given to protection. The interior will need full restoration, although one could re-install the components and drive the car as is.
The fuel tank and pump are out of the car. We did manage to hear the engine run for about 15 seconds before oil started pouring out. The sound
from the pipes was magnificent!!  For a more detailed description of that event, call Mark directly.
This car was originally blue. Kind of a Royal Blue. The interior is a blend of black, blue and turquoise.
Montreals were produced from 1970 through 1977. Generally not available in North America, most examples are probably still
in Europe. The Bertone design was penned by the same young man who gave us the Lambo Miura. Own a piece of Alfa history and restore it yourself.

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles: The next five years

Tue, 06 May 2014

Unless you've been living under a rock for the past 24 hours, you've no doubt read about all of the big future product news coming out of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles today. We had individual brand reports from Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Maserati and even Ferrari, but in the interest of simplifying and summarizing, we're going to list out the hard facts once more. Of course, with all of this still off in the future, there's still the possibility that a few changes will be made. But as of what we know right now, here's what's coming, and what's going away.

Fiat set to invest $12B on new models, stop Euro losses in 3 years

Mon, 09 Dec 2013

Naturally, you'd expect a massive automaker like Fiat to have an in-depth plan to exit the current European-market doldrums, and you'd expect that plan to include plenty of new vehicles to attract those precious buyers that still remain despite the financial downturn. And you'd be right, though Fiat does seem to have a few unexpected twists up its corporate sleeve.
Perhaps the biggest shocker is a report that Fiat will completely drop the Punto, a car with mass-market appeal aimed at small-car buyers cross-shopping the popular Volkswagen Polo. Its replacement will be a five-door Fiat 500 aimed at upmarket buyers (sounds awfully similar to the 500L) that will be built in Poland. Lower-end customers will reportedly be served by variants of the Fiat Panda.
Borrowing a page from the BMW, Daimler and Volkswagen playbook, reports Automotive News, Fiat is said to have plans to reignite production at its Italian factories by retooling them to build high-end vehicles from Maserati and Alfa Romeo. These will be marketed as premium products, built by skilled Italian workers (who are paid wages that are 75-percent higher than those building Fiats in Poland), and will be sold around the world.

Just 45% of Fiat dealers are profitable, and they're angry about it

On average, Fiat dealers have only been selling about 17 cars a month.
We've been wondering for some time how Fiat dealers in North America have been getting along with just one model range in their showrooms up until recently. Franchisees spent millions building, stocking and manning sleek new 'studio' showrooms, only to have but a single model to sell, the cherubic 500. And even with its many derivatives, the Cinquecento is still an inexpensive model with its attendant lower margins. Perhaps it should come as no surprise then, that just 45 percent of US Fiat dealers are said to be profitable.
