For sale is a one owner black on black Audi A4 2.0T.  It was purchased brand new with pretty much every option box checked - Quattro, 6 speed manual, S-Line, Premium Package, Nav, Sunroof, Alloy wheels, Leather everything.  This was a $50,000 car that you are getting for 80% off.  The only reason it is for sale is because the owner moved to Manhattan for a medical fellowship at Montefiore Hospital.

As shown in the pictures overall condition of the vehicle is good.  The clutch and flywheel were replaced at 77,000 miles, aside from that the car has had no major mechanical problems.  Maintenance records are available, and the car has never been smoked in.  Tire wear is at approximately 50%.  Depending on driving conditions expect high 20s to low 30s for gas mileage - quite good for a luxury sports sedan.

While the overall condition is good there are the following specific cosmetic issues: denting to the front right quarter panel, minor scratches to the front bumper, coating coming off the front left alloy wheel, a small scratch to the rear driver side door, rubbing to the left rear quarter panel, minor scratches to the rear bumper, curb rash to the right rims, a small ding to the passenger door, wear to the drivers side seat, arm rest and door handle, and wear to the floor below the pedals.

If you are local please feel free to come see the car in person, it is located in zip code 07649 (North New Jersey) and can be shown 8am-5pm Mon-Thurs, or 8am-1pm on Friday.  If you are considering flying in and driving the car home it is an easy 45 minute train ride from Newark airport, and I can pick you up from the train station.  A $500 deposit is due within 24 hours of auction end, with the remainder to be paid within 5 days.

Reserve for the auction is set at $9300 - well below the Kelley Blue Book value.

Italy To Monaco In Ingolstadt's Crushing Performance Saloon
I had an engagement a while back with the Audi RS5 Cabriolet in Monaco, and getting me from my lair in northern Italy by plane connection is an utter waste of time since the first flight is always to either Paris, Zurich, or Rome, three cities not at all on the way to Monaco. So I phoned Audi Italia about a quick loan of a car for the three-hour-ish drive to this event, and they were simpatici enough to propose that I keep whatever they gave me for two weeks. And what they gave me was a loaded Audi S8 with properly chosen 20-inch Dunlop SP Winter Sport treads attached.
This was about to be a much cooler two weeks than I had planned.

Audi TT images leak out ahead of Geneva debut

Mon, 03 Mar 2014

Audi has done an incredibly poor job of keeping the third-generation Audi TT a secret. The first images of the car's rear leaked out late last week, and Audi released its own teaser video for the car last week, too, showing off its aluminum body. Now, the first official photos have surfaced out ahead of the car's debut at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show on March 4. The official photos are practically identical to the renderings from two weeks ago.
However, it appears that Audi has been able to keep one secret up its sleeve. If you look closely at the TT's grille, the badge appears to read TTS. It also has chrome and brushed aluminum trim on the mirror caps, rear diffuser and front air dam. The interior is also quite similar to the concept interior of the new TT was first shown in January at CES. So, images of the actual TT are likely to still be fresh when the car rolls across the stage at Geneva.
Check out all of the leaked photos in the gallery, and official details about the 2015 TT are expected in the next 24 hours.

2014 Audi S1 Quattro [w/video]

Fri, 21 Mar 2014

Audi may only now be fully committing to the US compact car market with a range of A3 models, but it's got far more small car expertise than most Americans realize, and its offerings get even tinier, too. Back in 2010, Audi leapt into the subcompact premium fray - in all markets but the United States, Canada and China - with its A1. The A1 family has sold all right, but not quite as well as was expected, likely due to its price when optioned up. (It also doesn't help that the Volkswagen Polo is a great car on the same architecture and costs much less.)
But Audi seems compelled to make high-buck S trims of everything nowadays, so right on schedule, I've scored seat time in its new S1 Quattro. Under its gumdrop-colored hood is the very popular 2.0-liter TFSI motor. In this trim, it's good for 228 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque between 1,600 and 3,000 rpm. That's quite a lot of gumption for this little blaster - enough power for 0-60 in just 5.7 seconds.
My drive was originally supposed happen on a sub-zero frozen lake in Sweden, only Audi forgot to call Mother Nature and ask her to hold off on springtime. It would have turned into a slush drive and then a submarine test had I been told to stick to the original plan, so it was dusty, soggy and gravel-y pavement instead, which turned out to be a better real-world test anyhow. Plus, the car got even cuter when it was filthy.
