1973 Buick Riviera BOAT TAIL ~ Completely rebuilt factory 455-4V, and rebuilt 400 turbo transmission, both are original to this car. Runs and drives great, really smooth runner, car floats like a boat on the highway. Has had newer front end work as well, including brake hardware. Brand New battery with 2 year warranty. This motor runs smoooooooth.... Starts right up with the touch of the key. Power windows, power locks, power steering, power brakes, front disc brakes, Air Conditioning, split 60/40 bench seat up front, vinyl top on roof (in good shape). The body is original and very solid, the paint was the next thing I was going to get to, needs a paint job pretty bad. Good solid car, cool project you can drive while you fix it up. Interior is all original, and pretty good shape for its age. Car has 113k original miles on the body, and only a couple hundred miles now on the completely rebuilt motor and tranny. FINISH RESTORING THIS CAR OR PULL THE MOTOR AND TRANNY OUT FOR YOUR HOTROD, for the money you couldn't buy and rebuild a 455 ci V8/ 400 turbo trans, good deal for the money! DRIVE IT HOME! I just drove it on the highway for 40 minutes the other day, floats like a boat!

* I DO NOT HAVE A TITLE FOR THIS CAR, IT IS SOLD WITH A BILL OF SALE ONLY * I bought this car in a package deal from a guy who was owed a bunch of back storage fees on it and other vehicles. He took the previous owner to court and all cars became his (property of the storage building owner). Cars were then sold to pay the back storage fees, that's how I ended up with it. I will provide new owner with a BILL OF SALE, that's all you need in my state on a car older than 25 years old.

$200 n/r deposit due within 24 hours, so I know your serious buyer. Remaining balance due within 7 days after auctions end. Cash in person upon pickup is preferred, or you can mail a cashiers check or money order if you would rather, car stays with me until funds have cleared. You can drive this car home, or have it shipped, its up to you. I can store the car for up to a couple months if needed, for no charge, provided car has been paid for in full within the 7 day timeline as stated above. Car runs and drives good, but is of course being a used car, it is sold as-is, no warranty. BID TO WIN!!!

Buick Envision CUV launches in China, is America next?

Fri, 29 Aug 2014

Buick is launching its new midsize Envision crossover in China at the Chengdu Motor Show, where it will slot between the subcompact Encore and larger Enclave. While it might be hard to muster too much excitement about a Chinese-market crossover, don't completely ignore this one. There's a very good chance it could be on sale in North America to fill the same hole in the brand's lineup over here, possibly as a 2016 model.
We recently spied the Envision completely undisguised as it was arriving at the Chengdu show for its debut. The CUV still looks like a stretched Encore from some front angles, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. It's got a similar oversized grille, hood vents (presumably faux) and large greenhouse as its little brother. Where the midsize CUV differs is its prominent crease running down the side and the different rear treatment, with wing-shaped trim cutting into the taillights.
The interior looks like a pretty nice place to spend time, too, with a predictable mix of leather, wood and metal, and it should be quiet in there with its active noise cancelation system. Infotainment is provided by an eight-inch touchscreen with a touchpad and voice controls.

Buick asks design students 'What could a Buick sedan look like in 2030?'

Mon, 09 Jun 2014

When you think of daring concept cars or emotional design-student projects, Buick probably isn't the first brand that comes to mind. It's not for lack of concepts; when General Motors ran down 11 concept-car highlights from Buick's 110-year history, three of them are from the past 15 years, with other experiments in that same timeframe like the Black Hawk, Centieme and Cielo left unmentioned.
But the company still thinks about them even if we don't. It ran a contest for students at Detroit's College for Creative Studies to create a Buick for the year 2030 that would incorporate future materials and transportation needs, and nanotechnology.
Best exterior design went to Sam Kenny for his Neo Classical Buick, Justin Salmon took honors for innovative material use, like having exposed algae on the bodyshell to generate energy, and Namsuk Lee nabbed best overall concept and best interior for his Buick Vision Sedan. You can read more about the design challenge and winners in the press release, and hear students talk about what went into the work in the video below.

1969 Chevrolet Chevelle vs 1987 Buick GNX in Generation Gap showdown

Wed, 15 Oct 2014

Generation Gap generally tries to adhere to a theme for each episode, and for the final video from the Lingenfelter collection, the series might have its best idea yet - limited-production muscle cars from General Motors.
On one side you get a 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle COPO, and it's an absolute sleeper. Other than the SS wheels, this classic coupe looks practically bone stock, at least until the engine fires up. Under the hood is a 427-cubic-inch (7.0-liter) V8 making a claimed 425 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. This was the sole year for the COPO package on the Chevelle, and Chevy only made about 323 of them.
The Chevelle's challenger is almost as rare and arguably just as cool. The 1987 Buick Grand National GNX looks just as mean today as when new. It eschews a traditional muscular V8 in favor of a 3.8-liter turbo V6 making a claimed 276 hp and 360 lb-ft, although that number is supposedly a bit underrated. Also, just 547 examples of the GNX version were ever built making it quite a collector's item too.
