Hi Folks.......Up for sale is my 1977 Cadillac Coupe DeVille. 63,000 miles 90% all original......About the car: 1977 was the first year for this body style. Base model Coupe DeVille with power bench seat, power windows, power door locks, power Antenna (still works), AC (still works), Rear Defogger, AM/FM stereo. I am the 3rd owner. Up until last year the car was garaged all year long, now only garaged from November to April. It is in extremely good condition for its age and all the paint and body panels are original except for the rear bumper fillers. The interior is also in great shape with minor fading on the top of the rear seats, but NO rips! AC blows ice Cold and power antenna still goes up and down when you turn the radio on and off......As for the exterior, that also is in great shape.....the hood has a few minor scratches and the front nose of the car has some rock chips......The quarter white vinyl roof is also in great shape, very clean no stains or rips and even the opera lights still light up when you turn the head lights on. This year I put new white wall tires, New Front breaks and Rotors, New Radiator and all new belts and hoses. oil changes every two months with Mobil 1 ONLY!......The previous owner had the car dualed out With cherry bomb mufflers, sounds good but it should not have cherry bombs its a caddy........I drive the car a few times a week, only when its nice out....never driven in rain and never in SNOW! I go to a few car shows a year with it in NJ and on Staten Island.....and take it down to LBI about two times a summer......the car is awesome on the highway and gets pretty good gas millage......if you are looking for a great cruising car this is it !.....As for the troubles: The wood trim around the horn button is cracked, the dash clock does NOT work, two water stains on the roof from leaving the car cover on too long after heavy rain (should polish out just haven't had the time to have it done) and the car has a slight hesitation until it warms up, when leaving from a stop.....Could use a tune up and maybe a carb cleaning, again haven't had the time......this past spring I bought a house and just don't have the time to drive it that much nor have the space to store it.....Please E-mail, Text or Call me with any questions about the car bwinters1882@gmail.com or 646-261-2547 going to add more detailed pics

GM extending warranties on Cadillac CTS-V and Chevy Camaro ZL1 for supercharger issue

Wed, 04 Jun 2014

Okay General Motors, we've sat by and watched you recall the compact cars, crossovers and pickup trucks, and aside from reporting on it, we've been fairly quiet. This, though, this will not do. We can almost tolerate the recalls on the bread-and-butter cars, but leave the performance vehicles alone.
According to a report from The Car Connection, GM has discovered a problem with the superchargers of the 6.2-liter V8s found in the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 and the Cadillac CTS-V. Apparently, the issue rests around the internal bearing shaft grease, which can become contaminated (we aren't sure with what). If left unchecked, it'll first lead to a rattle at idle, which goes away under slight throttle. The real warning stage is when a high-pitched squeal develops, signaling that the bearing shaft has failed. Naturally, severe engine damage is the next step (although it's possible that the engine will also just refuse to turnover, although neither case is desirable).
According to TCC, GM will replace the superchargers on vehicles that have exhibited symptoms of bearing shaft failure free of charge. It will also, allegedly, be extending the warranty on all supercharged ZL1s and CTS-Vs to 10 years or 120,000 miles (whichever comes first), from the date of purchase. Officially, only 2009 to 2013 CTS-Vs and 2012 to 2013 ZL1s are suffering from this issue.

GM recalls full-size truck, SUVs and vans over faulty shifter mechanism

Mon, 07 Jan 2013

Twelve different General Motors vehicles from the 2013 model year, up to 54,686 units in total, are being recalled over two potential issues with their steering columns. The models in question, all full-size trucks, SUVs or vans, are the: Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV, Escalade EXT, Chevrolet Avalanche, Express, Silverado, Suburban, Tahoe, and GMC Savana, Sierra, Yukon and Yukon XL.
The affected vehicles were built with a fractured parking lock cable or "a malformed steering column lock actuator gear in the lock module assembly." As a consequence, they could shift out of park without the brake pedal being applied or with the key removed or in the off position.
A bulletin from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration indicates that the recall should begin on January 17. GM will notify owners, at which time they can take their vehicles to their dealers for repair free of charge. Have a look at the bulletin below for more information.

Cadillac moving to NY as separate business unit

Tue, 23 Sep 2014

Cadillac is under new leadership, and the automaker is committed to turning itself (back) into a global luxury powerhouse. It's got a strong product offensive (of products currently in showrooms, and much more on the way), and now it will have a new location to call home.
Following earlier speculation, GM has confirmed that it is moving Cadillac's base of operations from Detroit to New York. Lest you think it might rent offices in the Chrysler Building (which is, after all, one of the tallest in the city), the new Cadillac global headquarters will be located in the Soho area with a "multipurpose brand and event space in conjunction with modern loft offices." The company is still evaluating which staff will move along with it to Manhattan, and which will remain in Michigan where technical operations will still be based.
The move from Detroit to New York is the first major change being instituted by new Cadillac chief Johan de Nysschen, who previously undertook a similar shift in moving Infiniti away from Nissan headquarters to its own facility in Hong Kong. Ford had attempted a similar move in relocating its luxury portfolio under the Premier Automotive Group (which then included Lincoln, Mercury, Land Rover, Jaguar, Aston Martin and Volvo) from Dearborn to Irvine, CA, but ended up moving Lincoln (the last one still under the Ford umbrella) back to Michigan. Other luxury automakers like Audi (Volkswagen) and Maserati (Fiat) are headquartered away from their parent companies as well, but have a longer history of independent operation.
