1941 AMAZING Cadillac Original 77k miles!!!!  This piece of American history is a one family owned vehicle which has 77k original miles.  Well maintained and always garaged.  Bought the car from the son of an ill man for my collection but unfortunately for me I am selling this great Cadillac to make space for new vintage cars that I am adding to my collection.  Previous owner did an amazing paint job a few years ago.  The underneath was coated to prevent rust and deterioration, although the car was always parked in a temperature controlled garage.  Original seats are still in great condition and the door panels are in great condition just needs a little clean up.  New carpet was installed recently.  Headliner is also in great condition.  Car has newer tires.  This Cadillac starts right up with it's original 6volt.  The motor sounds amazing.  Runs and drives perfect.  The Hydramatic transmission shifts perfect.  It is a joy to take out and drive.  A headturner that gets lots of thumbs ups.  All the gauges work except for the gas gauge which started acting strange but was working fine earlier.  This car has heavy options including a radio antenna but the radio does not work.  The clock also does not work.  Wipers work very well.  The windows were all changed except for the front driver's and passenger sides.  80% of the chrome has been redone and the ones that haven't are still very presentable.  Underneath the car is very solid and clean with no rust.  New upholstery was recently done in the trunk.  Wood trim on the interior looks great.  Overall this is a very original Cadillac with the rare Hydramatic transmission.  This is your chance to own this one of a kind piece of history that does not come around often.

Cadillac, Buick and Chevy decisions impacted by worries abroad

European Concerns Drive GM, But Beware Of The French Connection
GM's bid to rationalize Europe will impact the products that will be offered domestically.
It seems that Europe is defining the future of General Motors more so than its home North American market. Having axed Saturn, Pontiac and Hummer, GM has done a fairly good job of repositioning its remaining four divisions, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Buick and GMC. Cadillac carries the luxury banner. Chevrolet is aimed at the masses with cars and trucks along with a nod to performance thanks to Camaro and Corvette. Buick bridges the premium gap between Chevy and Cadillac, while GMC offers a hardcore work/upscale proposition.

Cadillac's new ad campaign to tell you how to get lucky

Thu, 05 Sep 2013

Cadillac is set to launch a new ad campaign this fall, as it attempts to maintain the momentum established by new models like the ATS. The campaign comes from an agency called Rogue, and according to AdAge, will lean on American values. It's called, "Work Hard. Be Lucky."
The campaign is fairly self-explanatory, just from the tagline. It's meant to make a Cadillac seem more attainable to the average, aspirational buyer. It does kind of pander to that American idea that everyone's hard work gets rewarded, but as ad campaigns go, that's not a bad thing.
Somehow, it doesn't roll off the tongue quite like "The Standard of the World." As AdAge points out, Cadillac's advertising over the years has lacked a real coherent theme, although we'll admit to enjoying the most recent campaigns, particularly the around-the-world jaunts with the ATS. It's unclear if the "Work Hard. Be Lucky." theme will evolve into an actual tagline for the brand, with Caddy spokesman Dave Caldwell telling the advertising mag, "It could very easily end up being a line of copy along with other lines; we don't really know yet. It's an open question as to how dramatically it will be featured."

Online Find Of The Day: 2008 Cadillac XLR picks up where Excalibur left off

Thu, 23 May 2013

We try very, very hard to keep snark away from creations like the one you see here. After all, someone poured plenty of enthusiasm, time and money into turning a 2008 Cadillac XLR into a modern interpretation of the new-old cars typically done by cottage builders like Excalibur and Clénet. Even so, it's hard not to wince when you set an eye on this machine. With its wheelbase stretched to accommodate the extra bodywork, goofy sidewalls and upkicked nose (examine it in profile, it looks slightly bent in the middle), this "neoclassic" takes whatever was loveable about the Cadillac underneath and buries it in a tacky grave.
Miraculously, the engine bay has been left unmolested, which means the retractable hardtop convertible still features a 4.6-liter Northstar V8 engine good for 320 horsepower. If only that were enough to outrun its shame. If, for some reason, you feel like taking this thing home, Harry Kaufmann Motorcars of Milwaukee says it can be yours for a paltry $74,998. We wish were joking. Check it out here.
