1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Hardtop 2-door-hot Rod, Street Rod, New Paint, Rare! on 2040-cars

Year:1957 Mileage:0 Color: is free of any trim or bumpers but the car will be accompanied by a portion of the original exterior trim including the front and rear bumpers and the Bel Air fin plates
Location:

 FOR SALE:
1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Hardtop 2-Door
283 c.i. V8 paired to a 4-speed manual transmission-the pair is freshly (o miles) rebuilt
Fresh black paint on all body panels
The car is incomplete, as you can see, and it is at the perfect stage for anyone who wants to complete the car in original fashion or go with a more modern look.  I was going with a more modern look, therefore, I purchased a new set of 17-inch REV wheels and Hankook Ventus tires for the car.
The exterior is free of any trim or bumpers but the car will be accompanied by a portion of the original exterior trim including the front and rear bumpers and the Bel Air fin plates.  The car will also be accompanied by a small portion of the original glass and glass trim, the majority of which I have deemed not salvageable.
The body is very straight and the paint job is of high-quality.
The interior remains incomplete but the sheet metal throughout the interior and the trunk is solid.  I have a full set of seats and interior panels that are in good condition and  covered in black crushed velvet upholstery.  The interior will still need metal trim, carpet, insulation, gauges, and luxuries.
The car runs and drives as it sits.
I infer that if you are looking at buying one of these cars, you have the knowledge to recognize what this car needs to be complete.  This would be easy for somebody to complete before spring and cruise season.  This car would also be perfect for someone who wants to ditch the existing power train for an LS motor or a big block and go the pro-touring route with this car.
I had planned to finish the car within the next year but a recent, unexpected occurrence forces me to sell the car.
As you know, the '57 Bel Air Hardtop 2-door is one of the most highly-sought after cars in history and when you buy this car, you will be making a sound investment.
The car holds a clean and clear title that is ready for transfer to the new owner.

I will gladly provide you with more information if you are seriously interested in the car.  I will receive the purchase amount in full in a secure payment form (cash, wire transfer, or a certified bank check) before the car or the title will leave my possession.  I will gladly accommodate any logistics arrangements but the buyer will need to fund those arrangements. I can reached by voice or text at (270) 748-1882.

I appreciate your interest and happy bidding!

On Jan-30-14 at 07:52:46 PST, seller added the following information:

*A picture of the cowl plate has been uploaded to the picture sequence.  This will allow you to verify that this car is what it is advertised as.

*The tires and wheels have 0 miles on them.

GM tinkering with Silverado, Sierra model mix amidst strong early sales

Mon, 04 Nov 2013

Variety, as they say, is the spice of life. That's a lesson that is currently being taught to General Motors, because despite a strong showing from its 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, the General's pickup sales still can't best those of cross-town rival Ford.
With 59,163 trucks moved, GM fell just over 1,000 units short of toppling Ford, and one of the main reasons for that, according to GM's chief sales analyst, was due to a lack of variety in the engines and body styles available on dealer lots. "We are still over-weighted toward crew-cab V8 trucks. Our light-duty mix will moderate over time as our launch progresses," said Kurt McNeil.
Loading dealers with the popular combination of the 5.3-liter V8 and the four-door, Crew Cab body style was intentional during the truck's launch, but as supplies of leftover 2013 models, which are being sold at heavy incentives, are beginning to wane, both budget-conscious and high-dollar buyers are looking elsewhere instead of at the volume model pickups.

Watch this time-lapse build of the Chevy SS for NASCAR

Fri, 08 Feb 2013

There's only about a week left until we get our first look at the production version of the 2014 Chevrolet SS sedan, but Chevrolet NASCAR teams have been looking at the race version of the car all winter. Autoweek has posted a really neat time-lapse video showing just a portion of what it takes to build one of NASCAR's new Gen6 stock cars.
Though the video is quite brief, it does show almost the entire build process starting with just the car's nose, and it gives us a good look at how integral the template is to the final product. As a bonus, Hendrick Motorsports also provided some videos showing two of its teams performing pit stop tests over the winter. The second video shows some of the more detailed aspects of the racecar's rear end, including the stock-looking trunk cutout and a newly mandated rear bumper extension that will be used on super speedways like Daytona and Talladega.
To see what Team Chevy has been up to all off-season, check out all three videos posted after the jump.

2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible gives us a couple of looks

Sat, 02 Mar 2013

Put away your pixel paintbrushes, kids. Pack up your Photoshop. This is the real-deal 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible in its first official images. The droptop Chevrolet will roll into the bright lights of the Palexpo exhibition at next week's Geneva Motor Show, a four-wheeled statement of intent that General Motors is serious about taking its Corvette franchise global.
Chevy isn't providing anything in the way of further details with these two shots, but we've learned at least a couple of things about the car shown here. First off, the example seen in these images is fitted with the optional Z51 Performance Package - something that isn't immediately evident because there's no sign of the coupe model's prominent ductwork on its rear haunches. In order to accommodate the power folding hard tonneau cover, the vents that feed the transmission and differential coolers have been relocated to the underside of the car. The dark paint color on this example also does a good job of muting the contrasting black front fender vents and hood opening - Z51-spec design details that have proven to be somewhat controversial.
One other thing to note: These two shots also display the Stingray wearing different alloy wheels than the split five-spoke design shown at the hardtop's Detroit Auto Show unveiling in January. The simpler, thin five-spoke wheels should do a good job of showing off the Z51's upgraded brakes, and they'll be optional on the coupe as well.
