1967 Chey Chevrolet Bel Air 2 Door Hardtop Chop Top Convertible Original on 2040-cars
Sacramento, California, United States
BID NOW, SEND YOUR OFFERS, OR BUY IT NOW!
This listing is for a all original, numbers matching 1967 Chevrolet Bel Air that was a 2 door Hardtop, No post vehicle with a 6 cylinder engine. The car was made into a convertible via the choptop method and the top was chopped so the car could be in a movie a long time ago. That was years and years ago and car has been stored and put up since and was just sitting. ONLY reason, I am selling and not keeping it is because I have other projects that has precedence over this one, otherwise, I wouldn't mind keeping it and restoring it! This is a used 1967 vehicle, so there are the normal issues, a little rust on the trunk, hood, etc, but the vehicle is in pretty good condition for its age. The engine fires right up and it does run, in fact, the vehicle was just driven on 200 mile round trip and had no issues whatsoever! Title is clear and vehicle is on non-op status for California if someone local wants to purchase, they don't have to worry about backfees and such. THIS IS A GREAT START TO A RESTORATION....CAR RUNS AND DRIVES!!! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me or give me a call. I have included as many pictures as possible for you! THIS IS A NO-RESERVE AUCTION, whatever it sells for it sells for! Car is also available for sell locally, so I reserve the right to cancel at anytime, regardless if a bid is placed or not. If you want the vehicle, PURCHASE the vehicle now and don't try to wait until the last minute. Car can be picked up or shipped out AT BUYERS EXPENSE! I can and will help with arranging shipping if need be and I can store the car for a few days to a week or two if need be AFTER payment is received in FULL! Thank You |

Experimental mid-engine XP-819 Corvette going up for auction
Sun, 17 Feb 2013It seems to be commonplace that when a new Corvette is in development, rumors swirl about a possible mid-engine layout. As is the case of Chevy's most recent C7 Corvette, these rumors never pan out.
In any case, the idea for a 'Vette with an engine mounted behind the driver can probably all be traced back to a single car, the 1964 XP-819 prototype. Built as an "engineering exercise" back in 1964, the prototype was designed with a rear-mounted engine. History tells us that the idea of a rear-engine Corvette fizzled, and the XP-819 was eventually cut up into pieces and stored at a shop in Daytona Beach, FL.
After sitting for untold years, a restoration project started on the car, and while it isn't yet fully completed, the current owner of the car, Mid America Motorworks, will have the car on display at the 2013 Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance as a "driveable chassis" with hopes of having a fully completed car ready to bring to next year's show.
Corvette Stingray designer lists five goals of new exterior shape
Fri, 12 Apr 2013Redesigning an icon is a difficult task, especially when you've got a blank sheet of paper in front of you and the all-new C7 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is intended to be your final objective.
General Motors has released a new short video featuring Kirk Bennion of the Corvette's exterior design team, talking about the challenges of sculpting Chevrolet's new flagship sports car and the five goals the team had to keep in mind as it worked. In the end, Bennion's team had the pleasure of seeing their hard work take center stage as the Corvette captured the world's eyes at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this year.
Chevrolet donates 300 vehicles damaged by Sandy to help train first responders
Thu, 28 Feb 2013Super Storm Sandy took out a lot of automobiles in its path of destruction through the Northeast last October. The number surpassed 250,000 at last count, and a few of those were owned by Chevrolet - cars either sitting on dealership lots or waiting at port to be shipped off. Rendered unsellable by the water damage inflicted by Sandy, these vehicles were facing the crusher. But Chevy didn't send them there.
Instead, Chevy had a better idea: It will be donating 300 of these vehicles damaged by Sandy to help train first responders at Guardian Centers in Perry, GA. Chevy is the official automotive partner of Guardian Centers, which is an 830-acre facility that trains first responders in disaster preparedness. Junked cars are practically a consumable commodity there, where a full-size cityscape simulator gives trainees an entire urban center in which to train for all sorts of rescue operations and disaster scenarios.
Chevy says its particular vehicles will be used "in conjunction with role players for wide area searches, traffic congestion in emergency situations, counter terrorism, public order and mass casualty exercises." While grim scenarios all, we're certainly glad there are people out there preparing for the unexpected. While a zombie apocalypse isn't officially on the list of potential disasters to prepare for, when the virus hits, we'll be hot-footing it to Perry, GA to hang with these guys and gals.
