1970 Chevrolet C-10 Custom Truck Rebuilt 350 Engine, 90% Restored, New Ac. Alarm on 2040-cars
La Joya, Texas, United States
A brief history on this beautiful truck: I traded a fully restored 1970 Chevrolet Nova and cash for this truck and drove it from Houston Tx. in 2012 and immediately went to work on it as it was at around 50% complete. I drove to a mechanic whom I trust and had him do the complete tune up, suspension inspection and installing of new breaks front and rear. After this was complete, I had him eliminate the clutch fan and added electronic fans with a temperature regulated relays. I went crazy and got on LMC online and began ordering as many new parts for this truck and mechanic added them. Installation of new air condition components, hoses and new compressor came next, as it's a must have with our Texas heat. Around two months ago, engine piston gave out and had the whole engine taken out and rebuilt at Border Engine in Mission Tx. and mechanic assemble, installed and now runs strong and still has less than 200 miles on it. I wanted this truck for my dad but he has mentioned to me he's always wanted a 67-69 Chevelle and I am willing to make this happen for my Dad so I am selling this beauty. This truck is a very dependable daily driver as I drive often and get a lot of attention and people interested in it. Once you see the pictures, only true truck enthusiasts will understand how much time and money has been spent to make this beauty to the 90% condition its in, other 10% in my opinion would have been a different choice in paint color as this would've been my next and last project for it. Please feel free to look at the pictures I have uploaded as you may see how truck is now. If you have any specific questions please feel free to ask and I will answer them as best as I can and if it involves me asking previous owner from Houston Tx. I can also ask him as we still stay in contact and he's been very helpful in answering my questions through out my 2 years of owning this truck. 1970 CHEVROLET C-10 CUSTOM PICKUP VIN #: CE140S1243556 MILES: Reads 83,939 but newly rebuilt original engine with less than 200 miles on it ENGINE: CHEVROLET 350 CID V8 TRANSMISSION: Manual transmission (3 on the tree) OPTIONS: -Trucks original 350 4 bolt main newly rebuilt engine (less than 200 miles on it) with manual 3 on the tree gears -Truck bed and undercarriage sprayed with undercoating -New Optima battery, starter, water pump and alternator has been amped up as well. -22" Panther Juice 5 Chrome wheels 6 LUGs -Many extras to mention PLEASE CONTACT ME TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO INSPECT, TO MAKE OFFERS, GET YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED, ETC. Watch this creative way to pull a truck's engine
Fri, 08 Mar 2013Living in an apartment complex has its benefits, but for shade-tree mechanics who like/need to work on their own cars, it definitely has a number of disadvantages. Relatively simple tasks such as brake jobs and oil changes are difficult when you don't have dedicated driveway space, to say nothing of more in-depth repairs... like pulling an engine, for example.
For these types of challenges, a little ingenuity and plenty of muscle are needed to get the job done. Scroll down to watch these four men snatch the V8 out of a Chevrolet K1500 using nothing but a chain, landscape timber and good ol' fashioned brute strength. Good work, gentlemen.
GM recalling 250,000 SUVs over door electronics
Mon, 20 Aug 2012After a door-fire investigation that dates back to February, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has officially announced a recall today that affects around 250,000 General Motors SUVs for a faulty driver's door module. The recall applies to the Buick Rainier, Chevrolet Trailblazer, GMC Envoy, Isuzu Ascender and Saab 9-7X from the 2006 and 2007 model years, as well as the 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer EXT and GMC Envoy XL for vehicles sold and/or registered in the Snow Belt.
Road salt use in these midwestern and northern states can lead to corrosion of the driver's door module on these GMT360 and GMT370 vehicles, which allows water to come in contact with the circuit board. If shorted out, the vehicle's power door locks and power windows will not work, and could possibly lead to overheating and, in some circumstances, a fire. No official word on how many total vehicles caught on fire, but back in June, 28 fires had been reported to the government agency. A fix for the problem is still being worked out, but all affected vehicle owners will be notified by GM.

Chevy shows much-improved 2014 Corvette interior in new video
Mon, 11 Feb 2013If you want a closer look at what went into designing and building the interior for the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette, we've got just the thing. General Motors has released a new video detailing the cabin's evolution from conception to execution, complete with commentary from Ryan Vaughn, performance car interior design manager with Chevrolet. The quick clip details how manufacturing, engineering and design within General Motors worked together from the first sketches to ensure no compromises had to be made later down the line. How novel.
With plenty of hides traced with contrast stitching and available real carbon fiber trim, the cabin looks to be a few hundred miles ahead of the C6. Given how readily critics derided the previous generation for its cabin, the C7 should make writers work a little harder to find something to complain about. Check out the video below for yourself.
