This 1972 Chevy C-10 stepside short box truck comes to us straight from sunny California.

It's nicely restored, with a shiny base coat/clear coat finish, a new oak bed, and a strong running 350 CID V8 (later model engine, appears to be a 1992 with an Edelbrock intake and carb setup; a nice eBayer informed me that, based on the VIN, this was a 6-cylinder truck in it's original form) and smooth shifting automatic transmission.

I bought the truck in Palm Springs, California this winter, and spent the winter enjoying driving it all around the desert. It was a super daily-driver for my winter "snow bird" cruising. Everywhere you go with this truck, people react with a smile and a wave. It cruises smooth and straight down the road.

It shifts smoothly and decisively, the power steering and brakes work great. This Chevy required very little sorting on my part, which is a bit unusual with collector cars. I replaced a valve cover gasket, and a few little details here and there, along with adding a new water pump (the day before loading it on the auto transport semi, the water pump seal failed and leaked coolant, so I had my mechanic in California install a brand new water pump). New heater / defroster controller installed, along with a new upper radiator hose.

It's very fun to cruise in - the new turbo mufflers give it a throaty growl.

The brightwork on this truck is in good shape - much of the trim, bumpers, etc. seems to have been replaced with new aftermarket trim. Very nice and shiny.

Exterior Paint is very nice....it is a base coat/clear coat and has a deep shine; a few flaws here and there but nothing that distracts from it's overall great looks.
The body panels are all nice and straight and the door and hood gaps and fit are good.
The Exterior Chrome, Trim, Stainless, Grill, Lens, are all very nice as well.
All the glass rubbers and weatherstripping in great shape; seem to have been replaced recently.
New Oak bed in the box. Sides of box have nicely applied bedliner.
Tonneau Cover over the rear box.
Interior Seats, Door Panels, Headliner and Carpet are in great shape. Interior has shoulder seat belts.
Dash is great; tilt steering column, steering wheel is a rare one-year only wheel from a Chevy Lumina Eurosport, really nice wheel that looks right and feels great in your hands.
Updated radiator - drove this winter in Palm Springs in 95? temps without a problem.
Aftermarket gauges - Voltmeter and Temp gauges are hooked up; oil pressure gauge installed but not hooked up (includes all items to hook up).
There is a new Kenwood Stereo system installed.
A new heater fan motor and new heat/defrost control lever setup installed. All three fan speeds now work!
Michelin Radials all around with lots of tread on nice period correct GM Rally Wheels with beauty rings.
A brand new set of Mufflers were installed prior to my purchase.
The Engine Compartment is very tidy and clean showing pride of ownership and maintenance.
The Chassis is super clean and solid.....obviously a solid California Truck.

Refreshed 2014 Camaro confirmed for New York debut

We've already seen leaked specs and potential spy shots, but the refreshed 2014 Chevrolet Camaro will make its official debut at the New York Auto Show in a few weeks.
Besides a tweaked exterior and the possibility of a high-output LS7 under the hood, we really don't know much else about the 2014 Camaro, but here's hoping for an improved interior, too.
In addition to the refreshed Camaro, Chevrolet will also be showing off the recently introduced Chevrolet SS, making its debut on the auto show circuit, and we'll also get our first look at the C7 Corvette coupe and convertible side-by-side.

Automakers score 8 out of top 20 most-watched ads on YouTube [w/videos]

Who would have ever thought there'd be a day where people are able to skip television commercials only to go to websites to watch them later? Such is the joy of a DVR and YouTube. AdWeek tabulated the 20 most-watched ads on YouTube, and found that nine were car-related including eight coming from automakers.
Volkswagen continued its Star Wars theme with two ads in the top 20, including the highest-ranking car commercial The Bark Side spot at number three with almost 18 million views, which doesn't even have a single car in it. Some of our favorites are from Chrysler with Clint Eastwood in It's Halftime in America and House Arrest with Charlie Sheen for the Fiat 500 Abarth. Chevrolet, Honda, Audi and Toyota were the other automakers in the top 20, but we'd be remiss if we didn't at least mention one of the coolest ads on the list, the Hot Wheels corkscrew jump.
Of all the car videos, only the Fiat ad wasn't played during a Super Bowl. Check out all eight videos - in order - after the jump. Nike took the top spot with its My Time is Now ad that has been seen online more than 20 million times with Pepsi's Uncle Drew posted up in the runner-up; some of the other videos include four Old Spice commercials and an ad in which Snoop Dogg is pedaling Hot Pockets.

GM 6.2L V8 claims most powerful light-duty truck engine title

General Motors has officially captured the horsepower crown for mainstream pickup trucks with its 6.2-liter V8. The big mill, available in both the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, comes to market with 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, handily outdoing its two cross-town competitors, Ram (5.7-liter V8, 395 ponies and 407 lb-ft) and Ford (6.2-liter V8, 411 hp and 434 lb-ft).
The new GM 6.2 will take a bit of an investment, though. Those that want the extra thrust will need to go with either the LTZ or High Country trims from the Chevy, or the SLT and Denali trims from GMC, which are the two highest trim levels for the respective vehicles. Trim levels aside, if you're in the business of towing, GM has you covered. Optioned with the 6.2-liter V8 and the Max Trailering Package, owners will be able to pull 12,000 pounds, a hugely impressive figure.
We still aren't certain as to what sort of economy the new engine will get, but it'll probably be a bad bet for the fuel conscious. As for availability, expect to see the 6.2-liter trucks in showrooms later in the fall.
