im selling my 1970 camaro that was an original standard camaro that i customized in 2006.  this car was transformed into the car it is today. ill try and list all the goodies i have in it and also what needs to be done to complete the project.  the floor was replaced from firewall to taipan.  all the body mounts were replaced with polyurethane bushings.  it has a rebuilt 327 v8 that was reworked and has just over 4000 miles on it since i redid the car.  i put in it a be cool aluminum radiator with electric fan.  it has a zaganaw 4 speed manual transmission and 411 gears in the rear.  i replaced all the brakes with wilwoods disc brake conversion kit.   it has a flowmaster american thunder exhaust system with ceramic coated headers.  it has american racing polished wheels and cooper zeon tires.  17's up front and 18's in the back.  all chrome was replaced or rechromed.  it has all new power brake booster and master cylinder with all new stainless steel brake lines front to back.   the paint is a nissan copper with a custom stripe that was hand painted on.  door handles are shaved and has poppers on the door.  front windshield was replaced.   at this point of the restoration i got tired and wanted to drive it so i never finished the interior(see pics)  i have a new headliner, front door panels, dash pad, rear side panels that go with the car.  i have easyily invested over 35 k in this car but understand it will take a little money to finish it.  if i cant get what i think is fair i will keep it cause after all it owes me nothing..  please ask any questions before bidding and feel free if its possible to come see the car in person.  i included as many pics as possible so if theres something specific you want to see just ask and ill get a picture for you.  if you have less than a 5 in your feedback dont waste my time or yours cause i will cancel your bid.  thanks

Watch NASCAR racer Jeff Gordon put one over on a used car dealer... sorta

Wed, 13 Mar 2013

Full Disclosure: in my younger days, I loved nothing more than tormenting passengers with my behind-the-wheel hijinks. Once, after a particularly artful handbrake turn on a two-lane at around 50 miles per hour, I left one backseat occupant crying in their own lap. This isn't necessarily something to be proud of, but it gives you a glimpse into why it is that I find this ad from Pepsi so damn disappointing. The premise is beautiful. Take NASCAR legend Jeff Gordon, give him a disguise and set him loose upon some unsuspecting used car dealer. Hilarity ensues.
Except that this Pepsi Max commercial is so obviously staged, it can't help but feel like some ham-fisted marketing fail. From the strategically placed aftermarket cupholder mounted mid-dash for the hidden camera to the fact that the supposed dealer Camaro is displayed as a 2009 model (Hint: Chevrolet didn't make any), this clip is about as organic as a Twinkie. Still, we would never turn down a chance to watch Gordon thrash on a rental-spec coupe - only problem is, he probably didn't even do the driving himself. Check it out below.

Hot Wheels Camaro to make big debut at Indy

Fri, 05 Apr 2013

Chevrolet handed over the keys to 33 Hot Wheels Camaro Convertible Indianapolis 500 festival cars this week. Race directors get the luxury of driving the droptops around Indianapolis in an ongoing tradition with roots all the way back to the 1960s. The stunt is supposed to remind area residents that the Indy 500 is right around the corner. The cars are our first look at the special Camaro Hot Wheels Edition in convertible form, and they are slated to head to dealers after a one-time production run. The cars also represent the first time in history full-size Hot Wheels have been offered for sale by an automaker.
The cars will be available in both the previously seen coupe bodystyle and this convertible configuration, and will feature metallic blue paint and special wheels with the iconic redline accent. Buyers will be able to choose between the V6-powered 2LT trim and the V8-powered 2SS guise.
Hot Wheels says the original Custom Camaro toy was one of the original 16 1:64-scale diecasts, and it remains one of the company's most valuable collector items today.

Watch this time-lapse build of the Chevy SS for NASCAR

Fri, 08 Feb 2013

There's only about a week left until we get our first look at the production version of the 2014 Chevrolet SS sedan, but Chevrolet NASCAR teams have been looking at the race version of the car all winter. Autoweek has posted a really neat time-lapse video showing just a portion of what it takes to build one of NASCAR's new Gen6 stock cars.
Though the video is quite brief, it does show almost the entire build process starting with just the car's nose, and it gives us a good look at how integral the template is to the final product. As a bonus, Hendrick Motorsports also provided some videos showing two of its teams performing pit stop tests over the winter. The second video shows some of the more detailed aspects of the racecar's rear end, including the stock-looking trunk cutout and a newly mandated rear bumper extension that will be used on super speedways like Daytona and Talladega.
To see what Team Chevy has been up to all off-season, check out all three videos posted after the jump.
